【題目】D

When it comes to friends, I desire those who will share my happiness with me. When I was in the eighth grade, I had a friend. We were shy and too serious about our studies when it was becoming fashionable with our classmates to learn acceptable social behaviors. We said little at school, but she would come to my house and we would sit down with pencils and paper, and one of us would say: Lets start with a train whistle today. We would sit quietly together and write separate poems or stories that grew out of a train whistle. Then we would read them aloud. At the end of that school year, we, too, were changed into social creatures and the stories and poems stopped.

When I lived for a time in London, I had a friend. He was in despair (失望) and I was in despair. But our friendship was based on the idea in each of us that we would be sorry later if we did not explore this great city because we had felt bad at the time. We met every Sunday for five weeks and found many excellent things. We walked until our despairs disappeared and then we parted. We gave London to each other.

For almost four years I have had remarkable friends. We write long letters in which we often discover our strangest selves. Each of us appears, sometimes in a funny way, in the others dreams. She and I agree that, at certain times, we seem to be parts of the same mind. In my most interesting moments, I often think: Yes, I must tell... We have never met.

It is such comforting companions I wish to keep. One bright hour with their kind is worth more to me than the lifetime services of a psychologist (心理學(xué)家), who will only fill up the healing (愈合的) silence necessary to those darkest moments in which I would rather be my own best friend.

B.Give yourself some time to form a memory.

C.Erase those thoughts and promise to improve your memory.

D.To improve your memory, there are a number of things you can do.

E.You can create an image in your mind to help you remember something.

【題目】根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容,從短文后的選項(xiàng)中選出能填入空白處的最佳選項(xiàng)。選項(xiàng)中有兩項(xiàng)為多余選項(xiàng)。

Speaking is not equal to learning.

You don't need to study grammar too much. The first suggestion may sound strange to many students who begin to learn English, but it is exactly important. 1 However, if you want to speak fluently, you should try to speak English without thinking too much of grammar. Studying grammar will only slow you down and make you hesitate. You will think about the grammar rules instead of naturally saying a sentence like a native.

You can't translate every word. When you try to speak English, you do not need to translate every word from your mother tongue. 2 Another problem you may meet is that you will misuse grammar rules that you have learned in your mother language.

3The reason why many people can learn well is that they often practice. But in order to speak English fluently, you need to practice speaking. When you study, don't just listen.

Speak out loud the material you are listening to and practice what you hear. Practice speaking

out loud until your mouth and brain can do it without any effort. 4

You should study correct material. A phrase you often hear is, "Practice makes perfect." This is not completely true. Practice only makes what you are practicing permanent. If you practice the incorrect sentence, you will have perfected saying the sentence incorrectly.5

A. You should try to speak fluently.

B. You need to practice speaking what you hear.

C. By doing so, you will be able to speak English fluently.

D. If you want to pass examinations, you should study grammar well.

E. If you listen more, you can speak correctly and fluently sooner or later.

F. Therefore, it is important that you study material that is commonly used by most people.

G. The order of words is probably completely different and you may be both slow and incorrect by doing this.
