10.PE can be the class that you fear the most.It holds a variety of activities for different types of students.You have those who think they are too cool to participate,those who don't do anything,and there's always that one kid who fakes numerous (無數(shù)的) notes so he can be excused from class.
Throughout my years of PE,I learned some easy tricks to survive this terrible nightmare.For example,I hate dodgeball (躲避球).Since my PE teacher gives points for participation,I would mostly decide to kick or try to catch the ball when he's looking in my direction.Otherwise,you would find me in the back,hiding behind a group of students.This method works for any sport-just blend in (加入) with a group of students who regularly participate.You know what they say:Fake it till you make it.
When it's time for those terrible exercise tests,I do my best because I don't want to end up getting a bad grade,especially in PE.I motivate (激勵) myself during these tests by telling myself that exercise is good for me.Since I don't work out outside of school,it's basically the only effort I make to keep fit.
Usually gym class is about 40minutes long.I've learned that no one in this class really pays attention to what others are doing.If you get hit in the face with a ball,just laugh it off.People will forget about it once class is over,and I'm sure there will be other news out there that'll draw the attention away from you.
You have to be brave,even if the PE uniforms are the most disgusting pieces of clothing that have ever touched your body.Find yourself a group of students that you can easily become friends with.They could motivate you to do better.Also,remember that you're taking this class for the sake of (為了) your grades.So try,or act like you are trying.

63.What was the author's main purpose in writing the article?B
A.To state the importance of going to PE class.
B.To share with the reader the methods she uses to survive PE class.
C.To share some of her terrible experiences in PE class.
D.To tell the reader how she motivates herself to participate in PE class.
64.When dodgeball is played in PE class,the author is likely toC.
A.make up an excuse and skip the class
B.force herself to practice as often as she can
C.hide and avoid catching the teacher's attention
D.kick or try to catch the ball in order to make herself noticed
65.What can be concluded from the article?C
A.The more you take part in PE class,the more you will enjoy sports.
B.Those who get hit in the face with a ball in PE class won't get any attention.
C.Even though she doesn't like PE much,the author still motivates herself to do better.
D.Since she doesn't work out regularly,the author often does poorly in exercise tests.

7.People often have the impression that Chinese characters are extremely difficult to learn.In fact,if you were to try to learn how to write Chinese characters,you would find that they are not nearly as difficult as you may have imagined.And they certainly qualify as forming one of the most attractive,beautiful,logical(合乎邏輯的),and scientifically constructed(構(gòu)造)writing systems in the world.Each stroke(筆畫)has its own special significance.If you are familiar with the rules of Chinese characters,you will find it very easy to remember even the most complicated looking character,and never miss a stroke.
The earliest known examples of Chinese written characters in their developed form are carved into tortoise shells and ox bones.The majority of these characters are pictographs.Archaeologists of various countries have learned that most early writing systems went through a pictographic stage,as did the Egyptian hieroglyphics.Most writing systems,however,eventually developed a phonetic(表示語音的)alphabet to represent the sounds of spoken language rather than visual images observed in the physical world.
One notable feature of Chinese characters is the"radical.""Radical"in English means"root".For example,the characters yu"language,"shuo"talk,"i"discuss,""opinion,"and lun"discuss"all share the yen radical,which means"language,"and gives the reader a clue to the meaning of the character as a whole.The characters hsiu"rotten,"shan"cedar,""t'ao"peach,"and lin"forest,"all contain the mu"wood"or"tree"radical,indicating one of their shared key characteristics.If you know the radical of a character,you can usually get a general idea of the meaning of the character it is a part of.Although there is a theoretical total of almost 50,000written Chinese characters,only about 5,000of these are frequently used; and the total number of radicals is only 214.So learning to read and write Chinese is not nearly so formidable a task as it may at first seem.
33.According to the author,Chinese characters areB.
A.extremely difficult to learn
B.scientifically constructed
C.difficult to remember
D.a(chǎn)s difficult as you may have imagined
34.Which of the following statements is TRUE according to the passage?A
A.There are rules in forming the Chinese characters.
B.Some strokes are more important than others.
C.All the Chinese characters are pictographs.
D.Some writing systems eventually developed a phonetic alphabet.
35.The passage is mainly aboutC.
A.pictographs
B.the strokes of the Chinese characters
C.the Chinese writing system
D.the radical of the Chinese characters.
