Like many foreigners, I only know two words of Chinese (“hello” and “thank you”) when I came to China in 2015. Since tasks like ordering food or taking a taxi was quite stressful, so I signed up for classes. Because my teacher was very helpful, I didn't learn enough to have a conversation on.
