The spectacular Victoria Falls links two countries, Zimbabwe and Zambia. It was discovered by David Livingstone in November 1855 and is known in the local language, as Mosi-oa-tunya, “the smoke that thunders”.It was Livingstone who named Victoria Falls after his Queen and stated in his own famous diary entry--- “Angels in their flight must have gazed.”
Adventure sports and a range of accommodation
The rustic(鄉(xiāng)村的)Victoria Fall town--- just ten minutes from the Fall, and on the outskirts of the Zambezi National Park--- has all facilities necessary to act as a base for exploring the region.Accommodation is plentiful--- from low budget campsites to luxury hotels.
And across the border in Livingstone, Zambia, visitors will find a town suitable for the adventure sports enthusiasts with lots of travel and adventure sports companies.
Victoria Bridge--- the third highest Bungee jump in the world
At a height of 364 feet, the Victoria Falls Bridge, completed in 1905, is the world’s third highest Bungee jump, though the scream factor is arguably the loudest, making it a great draw-card for adventure sports enthusiasts. While dropping into the abyss (深淵), you will be blasted with spray from the thundering Victoria Falls, and then jerked (猛烈) back to reality within inches of the swirling eddies (漩渦) of the Zambezi below.
How to enjoy the Victoria Falls Experience--- take to the sky’s and the water
Anyone can pay an entrance fee and walk around the ridge of Victoria Falls and take some good pictures to send home, but to truly experience the size and scope of the spray, you’ve got to get airborne, and there are options--- tame and a little wild: fixed wing planes, helicopters, microlights.
River Rafting, in many shapes and sizes, is conducted on both sides of the Zambezi River, in Zimbabwe and Zambia below Victoria Falls.

The art of giving gifts is to give something that others cannot buy for themselves.
                                         ------A.A. Milne
I have spent most of my career as a traveling salesman. There’s 36   lonelier than having meals myself in a coffee shop. One year, my five-year-old daughter Jeanine gave me a  37 . It was a soft toy penguin with a hand –painted  38 saying “I love My Dad!”  Tears came into my eyes and immediately, I gave it a  39 place on my desk.
Soon I had to leave on another business  40 . This time when I was  41 , I put the penguin in my suitcase. After that day, Jeanine always helped me pack with the penguin. Many years 42 by and that little penguin has traveled with me hundreds of thousands of miles all across America and over to Europe. We have also made many friends  43  the way.
44 one afternoon after leaving my hotel, I discovered that the penguin was  45 . Frantically, I phoned the hotel. The clerk  46  , saying it hadn’t been reported. But half an hour later, he called back to say that my penguin had been found. It was late,  47  I drove several hours to get my little  48 , arriving near midnight.
When I rushed to the hotel, I found that it was waiting at the front desk. In the lobby(大廳), some   49 business travelers looked at us, I think, with some  50 and envy(羨慕). Someone came out to shake my hand. One man told me that he had even volunteered to  51 it to me the very next day.
Jeannie is in college now and I don’t travel  52 much anymore. The penguin spends most of its time  53  on my dresser--- a reminder that  54  is the best traveling companion. All those years on the road, it was the one thing I never left home  55 .

Taking Care
From a very early age, I knew I wanted to be a nurse. My mother was a nurse and I have always  36 her and the way she took care of everyone. I wanted to be just like her.
So, here I am, a   37 for the last seven years. I love my work. Now, my father is quite   38 . He is 71 and has heart failure, and a lot of other medical  39 . Up until April of this year, he was able to live alone, drive, and   40 all of his own needs. His health has broken sown swiftly. I’m the only girl out of the five children. Being the only girl and a nurse  41 me at the top of the caregiver list. Taking care of a sick parent is very  42 , not at all like taking care of other patients. I have to   43 my own family to be here with Dad. I know this is   44 I need to be but it is still hard. I   45 abut 12-15 hours day taking care of him. I want to spend all of the time that I can with him because I know that our   46 left together is short.
At the same time, I find myself  47 that my brothers don’t help more. Sometimes, it is days between their   48 . they all have families of their own and busy lives but…so do I. My eldest brother does help some. He   49 at night. He comes in at 8 or 9pm and lets me go home. But he is up and   50 to hit the road at about 6 am. My   51 brothers pop in for 10-15 minute visits. It is   52 annoying. They say they  53 stand “to see Daddy this way” which I understand. It hurts me to see him so sick  54 weak, too. But …h(huán)e’s our Dad. He has taken care of us our whole lives. I just  55 like we should all do our part to take care of him now.

Here’ s an unusual story: a diamond ring
was recently found in an egg. The

magician, Liu Qian, discovered it, in front
of an audience of millions at CCTV’ s Spring
Festival Gala. Liu’ s magic tricks have made the centuries-old art of magic fashionable once again, and made him the hottest magician in China.
As a seasoned young magician from Taiwan, Liu is popular worldwide for his magic shows. Countries he has performed in include the U
nited States, Japan, South Korea and the UK.
Witnessing something impossible happen right before your eyes is the root of people’ s love for magic.
“It’ s actually thinking rather than one’ s manipulation(操作)skills; that is more important to achieving a successful magic show. We think carefully about how to design the shows creatively, to make them appear more interesting.  ”Liu said.

Yet, Liu never planned on becoming a professional magician. He studied Japanese literature at university and only hoped to be an amateur  (業(yè)余的) magician in his spare time. However, his failure to find a proper job after graduation pushed him towards magic as a career.
To refine his performing skills, he has performed on streets, roads and fields for passers-by, policemen and farmers.
“Street shows are the biggest challenge for us magicians. We have to deal with unexpected situations and tough crowds, ” Liu said.

About 4 years ago, as a newly appointed general manager for a chemical plant near Toronto, I was faced with several leadership challenges. When I was first appointed as acting general manager, the plant was not even covering its costs and I was told that it would either be turned around or else!
I met with all employees and explained the severity(嚴峻)of the situation and that we would all need to do what we could to increse sales and improve performance or reduce operating expenses. They all appreciated my honesty although they were very nervous about their futures.
I then started working with each department head to determine how I could support their efforts. At first, they thought that I was looking to fix the blame for inefficiencies(無效率), but over time, they realized that I only wanted to help them find solutions.
They learned to trust me; as when things sometimes went poorly, I told my boss that I was the person in charge rather than pointing my finger at one of my members of staff. When we gained new busuness and it directly improved our bottom line, I praised the efforts of the entire team.
The plant workers became more and more motivated and now they all seem to really enjoy their jobs and I feel honored to be their leader. Do we still have challenges? Most 23-year-olds have not done enough in life to be worthy of having their own documentary(紀錄片)
  Most 23-year-olds aren't LeBron James.
The NBA superstar, who recently won gold at the Beijing Olympics, has just released More Than a Game. It is a documentary that follows his rise to stardom (明星地位) and how he and four childhood friends overcame long odds to win a national championship in high school.
Combining footage (鏡頭) taken during James' career at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio, US, along with one-on-one interviews by writer/director Kris Belman, home videos, and personal family photographs, the film is about much more than basketball. At its core (核心) is a story of friendship, loyalty and love.
"We set out with a goal as kids and we wanted to accomplish that someway, somehow by using basketball as a tool, not knowing that it was going to create other opportunities for us," James said. "We didn't know it was going to create a brotherhood and trust. We grew from kids into young men."
While James is the star, his former teammates, Dru Joyce III, Sian Cotton, Willie McGee and Romeo Travis, play a major role in the film.
Their journey began together as 8-year-old boys, winds through years traveling all over America playing in basketball tournaments and finishes in their senior season at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School.
At the time, Belman was a college film student. He set out to film James and his friends' season as his final school project, a 10-minute documentary. But after gaining the trust of the players and coach Dru Joyce, Belman spent two months filming and eventually teamed with producer Harvey Mason Jr to the full-length feature.
James hopes the film will inspire youngsters (年輕人).
"We set out with a goal when we were eight and we accomplished it when we were 18," he said. "It's a great story and I wanted to get it out to kids that have a dream, that they should continue to go after it, believe in it and live it if they want to accomplish something."

I remember my dad teaching me the power of language at a very young age. Not only did he understand that specific  36  can affect our mental pictures, but he understood that words are a  37  programming factor in lifelong success.
One particularly unforgettable event occurred when I was eight. As a child, I was always climbing trees, poles and  38  around upside down from the rafters(屋椽) of our lake house.  39 , it came to no surprise for my dad to find me at the top of a 30-foot tree, swinging back and forth. My little eight-year-old  40  didn’t realize that the tree could break or I could get hurt. I just thought it was enjoyable to be up so high. My older cousin, Tammy, was also hanging in the same tree. Her mother also  41  us at exactly the same time as my dad did. About that time, a huge gust(一陣) of wind blew through the tree. I could hear the leaves rustle(嘎嘎地響) and feel the tree begin to sway. I remember my dad’s  42  over the wind, “Bart, Hold on tightly!”So I did.
The next thing I heard was Tammy’s mother yelling, “Tammy, don’t fall!” Tammy did  43  . My dad later explained to me that the mind has a very  44 time processing a negative image. It takes seventeen positive statements to offset(抵消) one negative statement. That means it might  45  seventeen compliments(賀詞/道賀) to offset the emotional  46  of one criticism.
These are concepts that are especially useful in developing yourself. How many compliments do you give yourself daily and how often do you criticize yourself? Remember: try to make positive self-talk a daily practice and you will succeed some day.
