【答案】
As is seen, mobile phones are used everywhere in China. Here is the survey we have made of how they are used. On one hand, mobile phones make it convenient to keep us in touch with others. Besides, we can also have fun and get much information by surfing the Internet with it.
On the other hand, if we carry a mobile phone, we will be followed by calls and messages, which always disturbs our life and work. Worse still, it is very dangerous to answer the phone while driving.
As far as I am concerned, we should manage our mobile phones well. When having a meeting or lesson, we must turn it off so that it may not disturb us. Make sure we do not make any phone call when driving. In this way, mobile phone will be useful to our life.

【題目】A student walks into his first class and realizes he forgot all about the midterm exam. He knows he needs to bring his grades up, and getting a zero will make it nearly impossible. He quickly jots down some notes and shoves them under his lap hoping it will help him pass. Cheating is a major concern in all academic environments. Students are creating new and more outrageous(令人吃驚的) ways of cheating every day; some claim that certain accounts of cheating can be justified, but overall it can always be prevented.
Cheating has been around forever, and millions of ways to cheat have been fashioned. Copying homework and cheat sheets are some of the most basic ways students in all education levels have cheated. Some students think nothing about writing a few answers on their hand, in a gum wrapper, or boldly using a study guide to cheat. Desperate students have even gone as far as to steal the test or scan in bottle wrappers and put answers into the nutrition label. The Internet has now become available in almost every location. Computers can be accessed at school, at home, and now even on cell phones. This opens a doorway for even more methods of cheating to be born.
There are countless opinions on whether or not cheating can be justified. The truth is this behavior will always be a matter of opinion with each scenario of cheating. Students often rationalize their cheating by claiming they forgot to look over the material or did not understand what the teacher or professor was saying. Some may counter these arguments by saying that the students could have set reminders or asked the teacher to explain the material before the day of the test. Some other reasons why students believe cheating is justified are their heavy workloads and trying to find time for school, sports, friends, and family. This may be true in certain instances, however, all students have these problems, and it is unfair to the students who refrain(忍耐,節(jié)制) from cheating when the student who is dishonest receives a better grade. The majority of students who think cheating is acceptable may believe the reason for this is that sometimes students are unaware they are cheating, there is not enough time given for assignments, or that the information is too much for the course.
It may be difficult to accomplish, but cheating can be prevented. Teachers and professors have tried many options to stop cheating. These options can range anywhere from simply spreading testtakers out in a room, to expelling(驅(qū)逐) a student, which will most likely hinder their plans of getting into another college. One simple way to fix the problem is to scold the student when caught. They may be so scared or embarrassed that they never do it again. This is a risky way to prevent cheating in some cases, however, because it can possibly damage selfesteem. Another simple way to avoid cheating is to create many different kinds of the same test. This prohibits(阻止) students from getting the answers off of a neighbor's test, but students still have the option of using other cheating tactics.
There may be a million ways to cheat and get away with it, but there are few times, if any, that it is justified. Cheating never has to be a necessity and it is never worth compromising morals and losing years worth of working towards a degree. This problem is spreading throughout America; with everyone's help, it can be stopped.

【題目】An artist in Oakland, California is using his skills to help the homeless. Greg Kloehn builds very small shelters that make life on the streets more comfortable. The structures offer the homeless some safety and protection from bad weather. Each little house also has wheels on the bottom so it can go wherever its owner goes.
Greg Kloehn has given away at least 20 tiny houses to the homeless on the street. On a recent day, Mr. Kloehn stops to visit his homeless friends. One of them is Oscar Young. 【題目】For my brother and I, mowing(割草) yards during the summer is a good way to earn pocket change. Dad was our salesman. He traded our service to neighbors at a low price they could not refuse. My brother and I got $10 per yard. However, I later found out our competitors were charging $ 20 or more for the same amount of work.
One afternoon we were cutting our neighbor’s yard. When I was finishing up, I was tired and sweaty. I pictured the tall glass of icy drink I would have to cool down soon. I was just about to cut off the lawn mower when I saw Dad pointing to one piece. I thought about the poor change I was getting paid for cutting grass so high that it almost broke the mower. I ignored him and kept walking. Dad called me out, “You missed a piece.”
I frowned (皺眉), hoping he would let me slide and go home. He kept pointing. So angry, I went back to cut that piece of grass. I said to myself, “That one piece isn’t hurting anyone. Why won’t he just let it go?”
But when I became an adult, I understood his message: When you are running a business, the work you do says a great deal about you. If you want to be seen as a businessman with honesty, you must deliver a quality product. That single piece of grass meant the job was not done.
Other neighbors took notice of the good work we did and we soon got more business. We started out with one client(客戶), but by the end of the summer we had five.
The lesson my dad taught me stayed with me: If you say you are going to perform a job at a certain time, keep your word. Give your customers the kind of service you would like to receive. It shows how sincere you are and how much pride you take in your work.
【1】Which of the following statement is true?
A. His father was not a good businessman.
B. His father charged more for his service.
C. His father’s service was good but cheap.
D. His neighbors thought their service was poor.
【2】When Dad asked the writer to go back, the writer felt ___________.
A. doubtful B. surprised
C. terrified D. annoyed
【3】What did Dad teach the writer?
A. To do your work as well as possible.
B. To earn as much money as possible.
C. To get as more business as possible.
【4】 The best title for the passage may be ___________.

A.How to deal with listening practice
B.Class atmosphere matters a lot in learning
C.Monitoring activities is one of the main tasks of teachers
D.How to evaluate student performance
E.Group work needs organizing properly
F.Communication skills play a big role in language learning
Both instructors and learners can get benefits from the following learning strategies as long as they are properly made use of in language learning.
【1】 .
The information presented in this section focuses on specific conversation, discussion, or presentation skills. The activities arc generally self-explanatory, with students expressing opinions, making decisions, solving problems, planning presentations, and so on.Engaged in these activities, students have the possibility of communicating with each other in class. This section also includes lists of expressions used to illustrate different language functions, such as agreeing, disagreeing, and asking for clarity in order to help students expand their knowledge of English.
【2】 .
In a speaking or listening course, students' anxieties can affect their learning. For this reason, it is important to establish a friendly, relaxed classroom environment. It may help students think of the classroom as a laboratory where they can experiment and take risks with the language. In such circumstances, students should realize that errors are a natural and expected part of learning a language. In addition, one of the goals of this pan is to encourage students to examine their own opinions and values while at the same time showing respect for the opinions and values of others.
【3】________.
Many of the activities in this section involve the students' cooperating work in class. Generally, such an activity taken up by four members seem to work the best. Groups of three or five members may also be effective, depending on the activity. The first unit includes guidelines for organizing group work, with students taking on the following roles: leader, reader, summarizer, reporter, and observer (if necessary). Organizing all activities in this way makes the course truly learner-centered since students must take full responsibility for carrying out each activity. As for seating, group members should arrange their seats or chairs in a small circle to encourage interaction.
【4】________.
Being a teacher, in the course of group activities, you should circulate from group to group, which helps ensure that students are on task and are using English. While you should not participate in pair or group activities, you need to stay involved in what the students are doing. One important reason to circulate during activities is to keep track of the kinds of problems students have, such as grammatical accuracy, fluency, word choice, pronunciation and intonation discussion strategies, etc. However, it is generally not effective to correct students' errors when they are involved in an activity The most practical way to deal with communication problems is to make notes of what you observe as you are circulating. You can then use this information to provide feedback after the activity or to develop future lessons.
【5】________.
At the beginning of the course, when they need to build up their confidence, students benefit most from encouragement and positive comment. If possible, you'd rather not grade the students just few efforts at speaking in a group or to the class. Many students suffer such anxiety in speaking situations that any criticism at this stage can have the opposite effects. Commenting on students' work does not necessarily mean grading them on the scene. Even if the programs require formal grades, you should try to put off assigning grades until later in the term.
