The Qinghai Lake is the largest salt－water lake in China. It is in Qinghai province covering an area of 4 400 km2. It is 25 meters deep and 3260 meters above sea level. Because the area around the lake is not hot in summer, not much water is lost into the air. That's why the water in the lake is not very salty, so that some fish can live there. The lake is one of the main places of interest in Qinghai province. A great number of people from all over the world travel there every year, especially in summer.
