Maria, a 91-year-old woman, has an unbelievable experience last week. A group of thieves broke in her house but took nothing away with them. Maria recalled that the windows were broken and that all her box were opened, but nothing was missing. Instead, she found a handwritten note on the table that was said, “This is help you to get by.” Beside the note there was some money. It seemed that the thieves realized how poor Maria lived and decided not to take something—but to help. One policeman who has been working for 40 years is surprising by this event too. Later Maria kept the note received from her friendly thieves or used the money to buy sweets for his great grandchildren.

Last Sunday, some of my classmates and I went to the West Lake for fun. I noticed an old dustman collecting rubbish throw about by visitors. He was apparently having great difficulty collect some small items, especially cigarette butts. An idea was occurred to me. Why not help him collect rubbish? Much to their joy, all my classmates agreed and were willing help. So we work hard together with the dustman and collected lots of rubbish. Then we parted but waved farewell to the thankful dustman. Tiredly as I was, I felt really happy. I truly believe we’ll have an harmonious society if everybody takes action. How a fine deed!

Mistakes are unavoidable in life. But attitudes towards them may have a big difference. I still remember that my spoken English improved. In beginning, I always kept silent in the oral class to prevent myself from make mistakes. Before long my teacher knew about his situation. He encouraged me to speak out what I wanted to say regardless on mistakes. Whenever I have made mistakes and felt discouraged, my teacher and classmate would help me figure out how I could avoid them in the future. With time going by, I built up my confidence and now I can talk fluent in English. However, we just need to learn a lesson from the mistakes in order to improve our English.

【題目】College graduation eventually means taking much of your attention in your first job search. This process can be challenging, especially for those students who had second thoughts about their chosen major and intended career path — or those who majored in a field not directly connected to a specific career. If you are in one of these groups, fear not! Although your major, coursework, and academic performance are relevant to landing a job, they are not the only deciding factors on where you can work. So, just how important is your major to your job search?

Some majors are tied directly to specific career fields. For example, if you wish to become a teacher, you will likely have needed to complete an education program and eventually sit for a licensing exam. Successfully completing a specific major is very important to landing a job in the matching field.

Other majors, however, are closely related to career paths but don’t necessarily require a degree in the area. For example, students who majored in finance or math, may also have the necessary skills to be hired as an accountant.

Lastly, there are many industries, such as professional sales, education (non-teaching positions), insurance, and customer service management, which hire new graduates from several more majors, looking for more generalized (籠統(tǒng)的) requirements. They may simply want to know the student has completed his or her bachelor’s degree, which proves students’ college-level math and writing, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Hopefully, as a college student, you were able to do more than just attend classes. Your non-academic experiences can be very influential on your future career as well. If you worked or volunteered during college and if you enjoyed these activities, seek out related careers. You may qualify for a position regardless of your major.

Although it often seems like your college major alone determines your career fate, this just isn’t the case. It may influence it, but there are other factors that influence your career options as well. If you don’t know what career choices you have, talk to your faculty or academic adviser. You may be surprised at what opportunities await!

Today as I was leaving the church for home, I hear an old man saying he was cold. I was dressing in an expensive scarf. I had been a precious gift to me, so I gave it to him. In my opinion, the happiness what I receive as I see someone else happy in their hearts means many than the scarf itself.

He offered to accompanying me home and we talked all of the way to my house. For me, a material thing doesn't have a meaning until I give them to someone. Make it good one, a truly meaning of love for others.
