His mother later recalled her experience of the  46  . Being unable to move or even  47  to offer instructions ( 指導) or encouragement to her son, she was  48  by her little son's action. She recalled  49  her boy saying out loud as he pulled her through the water, “I think I can, I think I can!”
It seemed  50  that this little boy's act of courage was from one of his favourite books: The Little Engine that Could. In that  51  , when everyone else had 52  hope, the Little Engine carried the heavy load of toys and good things to eat over the hill to the children waiting on the other side. He had  53  and took action. Obviously this book had left a  54  impression before the accident that rainy  55  and motivated ( 激勵) the son to take action if the terrifying moments.

Crazy is our new normal. With two teenage boys and three little boys, our family is restless—to the baseball field, track field(田徑場)and piano lessons. Even though we’ve limited each boy’s activities and try our best to defend our family time, it seems that we’re in a constant state of flight.
“Embrace it. Roll with it,” my husband, Lonny, says, “It’s going to be like this for a while.”
He is right. It’s likely that life will continue to go forward before it slows down. But I remembered the still, quiet days that our family used to enjoy. I missed long walks through the park when we held the boys’ little hands. I longed for(渴望) lazy Saturday afternoons under the tree in our backyard. I wanted to slip back a few years, when busyness was the exception and not the rule.
One night, after a particularly full day and evening games, our family gathered on the porch(門廊)for ice cream. Two parents, two teens, and three small boys piled on one old swing and a couple of rocking chairs. We were together, in one place, for a small slice of time.
The moon was full. The Mississippi River, flowing past our home, was smooth as glass. I wrapped my own arms around the son who sat on my lap and breathed deeply to inhale his little-boy scent(氣味)—dirt and sweat. My heart was still and content(滿足的).
I realized that while crazy is our new normal happiness is as usual. They may look different from before, but they are still there—even if they’re in the form of a single moment on the porch. Maybe I just need the eyes to see.

So he said, "Well, Fee, we won't go.But we must make sure he is taken care of.How about if I write to Father Jones and ask him to look out for Frank?"

A great French writer said that we should help everyone as much as possible because we often need help ourselves. The small even can help the great. To this effect, he tells a simple story.
An ant was drinking at a small river and fell in. She tried hard to reach the side, but made no progress at all. The poor ant, almost tired out, was still bravely doing her best when a bird saw her. Moved with pity, the bird threw her a blade (葉片) of grass, which supported her like a boat, and thus she reached the bank again. While she was resting and drying herself in the grass she heard a man coming near. He was walking along barefooted and carrying a gun in his hand. As he saw the bird he wished to kill her, and he would certainly have done so, but the ant bit him in the foot just before he raised his gun to fire.
