Born into a tribe family in Transkei, South Africa in 1918，Nelson Mandela died of lung disease on December 6, 2013 at the age of 95. Although he was appointed as the successor of the tribe, he refused this wonderful opportunity and devoted himself to the career of the national liberation. In 1962, because of fighting against racial oppression, he was put into prison, where he spent 27 years. However, to our delight, not only was he awarded Noble Peace Prize for his contribution to South Africa in 1993 but also he became the first black to be elected as a president in the history of South Africa a year later. Nelson Mandela, who devoted all his life to building a new, equal and free South Africa, is undoubtedly one of the greatest men in the world.
