Isaac Asimov was an American scientist and a writer who wrote around 480
books that including mystery stories, science and history books, and even books
about the Holy Bible and Shakespeare. So he is best known to his science fiction
stories. Asimov had both an extraordinary imagination that gave him the ability
to explore future worlds and an amazing mind on which he searched
explanations of everything, in the present and the past. Asimov's life began in
Russia, when she was born on 2 January, 1920. It ended in New York on 6 April,
1992, when he died as a result of a HIV infection that he had got from a blood
transfusion nine years early.

We all have goals that we are moving towards and making a great effort to achieve. This is a good thing. Or can it be bad? Let’s use our job as an example. Now most of us want a promotion. We have plans to become the manager or general manager in our companies. Unfortunately, most of us will never reach the goal, but will watch others achieve our goal instead.
What we should be doing is focusing on the job we are currently in now. Forget where we want to get to and just focus on the present. You see, what we can control is our performance in our current job. We can decide to be the best we possibly can in our current job. Now this may mean further education to have the skills we currently do not have. It may mean working harder to produce better results than our colleagues. It could simply be a change of attitude, such as stopping complaining and becoming a more devoted and supportive employee. By doing our current job to the best of our abilities, we in fact give ourselves the best chance of promotion.
So the best thing for all of us to do to achieve our goals is to just focus on what we have and where we are now. Do the best and be the best we possibly can in our current situations, and we will give ourselves the very best chance of reaching our goals in the future. We have heard the old sayings and they are true: “Rome wasn’t built in a day.”, “Patience is a virtue”, and so on.
Have patience, have appreciation of what we already have, and take time to help ourselves be the very best we can. Do these things and we will all reach our goals, but more importantly, we will enjoy our life every day.

An official of the volunteer center of the Office of the Chinese Language Council International said that Chinese teachers are in great demand because learning Chinese is now part of compulsory education(義務教育) in many primary schools in Asian countries such as Thailand. Chinese teachers can be found in almost all the elementary schools in Thailand.
An official with the Beijing International Center for Chinese Language, said those who passed the interview would go through a five-month training period. Successful candidates would then become volunteers and teach Chinese to primary and middle school students in Thailand, Philippines and other neighboring countries. Each volunteer would receive $800 in subsidies(津貼), with accommodation and medical insurance covered by the school. Volunteers who perform well will be recommended to continue their graduate studies of teaching Chinese at universities when they return.
The official added that the basic requirement for candidates is that they have to have a bachelor’s degree, pass a Chinese-level test and a College English Band Four Exam. Candidates were tested on Chinese grammar, pronunciation, blackboard writing and English. Those with skills such as singing Chinese songs or dancing were preferred, she said.
