【答案】Nowadays, with the development of the Internet, there has come a kind of language called Web Language. Recently, our class has held a discussion on whether it’s good for students to use Web Language when writing compositions or communication. Students’ opinions on this matter vary from person to person.

40% of the students are not in favor of the idea of using Web Language, thinking it ridiculous to see or hear words which are not commonly used in our daily life. Worse still, it’s hard for them to make themselves understood. In their opinion, it is against Chinese grammar, and it’s not beneficial to students’ studies.

However, the rest of the students, accounting for 60%, are fond of it. They hold the opinion that what they say sounds humorous, which makes the language more lively. Moreover, it is of special help for them to express themselves freely.

【反】Personally, it is a phenomenon worth thinking about. I don’t think it good to use Web Language. It may be fashionable as some may think, but it may also make our meanings confusing, leaving other people at a loss.

【正】As far as I’m concerned, in our contemporary society, it’s quite common especially for us teenagers to use Web language when chatting with others. It’s convenient for us to express our feelings. However, when it comes to some formal situation such as writing compositions, it is not appropriate for us to use it.
