本題為原詞重現(xiàn),根據(jù)第三段的anyone with his eyes can see mine is perfect可知,年輕人認(rèn)為自己的心臟是完美的。
But because the pieces aren’t exact, I have some rough edges,可知,心臟上有粗糙的邊緣。
選擇A。
But because the pieces aren’t exact, I have some rough edges,的描述可知,老人認(rèn)為心臟的每一個(gè)疤痕都提醒著他和別人分享的愛,他認(rèn)為自己的心臟才是最美的。
I tear out a piece of my heart and give it to them, and often they ___ me a piece of their heart可知,老人把自己的心臟上取下一塊送給所愛的人,而所愛之人再回贈(zèng)一塊,就這么形成了很多疤痕,所以這些疤痕都代表了愛。選擇D。
先行詞為a person,代入從句中構(gòu)成短語,give my love to a person,缺少介詞to,故空格處填to whom。選擇D。
I tear out a piece of my heart and give it to them,可知我把我一部分心給一個(gè)人,那么這個(gè)人也會(huì)給我一塊他的心臟。
故選擇A。
選項(xiàng)A give in意為屈服;選項(xiàng)B give away意為贈(zèng)送、泄露;選項(xiàng)C give off意為散發(fā);選項(xiàng)D give up意為放棄。
本空為原詞重現(xiàn),上文反復(fù)出現(xiàn) a piece of heart,故選擇C。
故選擇A,構(gòu)成短語:take a chance,意為冒險(xiǎn)、碰運(yùn)氣。
根據(jù)下文的tore out a piece可知,年輕人把手伸進(jìn)自己的心中。
But because the pieces aren’t exact, I have some rough edges,可知,當(dāng)在彼此交換的心不完全合適時(shí),會(huì)有粗糙的邊緣。 故選擇A。

Tuvalu, a tiny country in the Pacific Ocean, has asked for help as it fears it will be swallowed up by the sea. Storms and huge waves are a constant threat and none of Tuvalu’s nine little islands is more than five meters above sea level. Salt water is already entering the country’s drinking water supply, as well as damaging plants that produce fruit and vegetable. 1.
2. Venice(威尼斯), a historic city in Italy best known for its canals, has sunk about 24 cm over the past 100 years. Experts say that it will have sunk another 20 cm-50 cm by 2050. A century ago, St. Mark’s Square, the lowest point in the city, was flooded about nine times a year. Nowadays, it happens more than 100 times. While Venice is slowly sinking into the mud on which it stands, Tuvalu’s rising sea level is caused by global warming.
The average global temperature has increased by almost 0.5 centigrade degree over the past century; scientists expect it to rise by extra 1-3 degrees over the next 100 years.
Warmer weather makes glaciers(冰川)melt, adding more water to the ocean. The warmer temperatures also make water expand, so it takes up more space, causing the sea level to rise. The sea level has risen about 10 cm-25 cm in the last 100 years.
3.
Through burning coal, oil and gas, people have been increasing the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, such as CO2. This adds to the power of the greenhouse effect, making the planet even warmer.
Many scientists believe that, if the warming is not stopped, there will be huge climate change. 4.
5. , the sea will swallow up millions of homes and the world will be flooded with "climate refugees" looking for somewhere to live.
A. The main cause of global warming is human pollution.
B. Should this come true
C. Without urgent help, the country’s days are numbered.
D. But Tuvalu is not the first place to face sinking into the sea.
E. The sea level could rise by one meter this century.
F. People face a lot of pollution.
G. Much has been done about our planet.

Dear mum and dad,
I still cannot believe that I am taking up this prize I won last year. I have to
remind yourself constantly that I am real in AD 3008. Worrying about the journey,
I was unsettled for the first a few days. As a result, I suffer from “time lag”. This
is similar with the “jet lag” you get from flying, but it seems that you keep getting
flashbacks from your previous time period. So I was very nervous and uncertain
at first. However, Wang Ping, my friend and guide, were very understanding
but gave me some green tablet which helped a lot. Well-known for their expertise,
his parents company transported me safely into the future in a time capsule.
