Andy rode slowly on his way to school, day-dreaming about the fishing trip that his father had promised him. He was so busy dreaming about all the fish he would catch that he was unaware of everything else around him.

He rode along until a strange around drew him to the present. He came to a stop and looked curiously up to the heavens. What he saw shocked him. A huge swarm of bees filled the sky like clack cloud and the buzzing mass      towards him.

With no time to waste. Andy sped off in the opposite direction, riding furiously without knowing how to escape the swarm. With a rapidly beating heart and his legs pumping furiously, he sped down the rough road. As the bees came closer, his panic increased. Andy knew that he was sensitive to bee stings(蜇). The last sting had landed him in hospital—and that was only one bee sting! He had been forced to stay in bead for two whole days. Suddenly, his father’s words came to him. “When you are in a tight situation, don’t panic. Use your brain and think your ways out of it. ”

On a nearby hill, he could see smoke waving slowly skywards form the chimney of the Nelson family home. “Bees don’t like smoke,” he thought. “They couldn’t get into the house.”Andy raced towards the Nelson house, but the bees were gaining ground. Andy knew be could not reach the house in time. He estimated that the bees would catch up with him soon.

Suddenly, out of the corner of his eyes, he spotted a small dam used by Mr. Nelson to irrigate his vegetable garden. Off his bike and into the cool water he dived, disappearing below the surface and away from the savage insects. After holding his breath for as long as he could, Andy came up for air and noticed the bees have gone. Dragging himself out of the date, he struggled up the hilly slope and rang the doorbell. Mr Nelson took his inside and rang his mother.

“You’ll really need that fishing break to help you recover,”laughed his mother with relief. “Thank goodness you didn’t panic! But Andy did not hear her. He was dreaming once again of the fish he would catch tomorrow. ”

Each high school has its own policy. One good example is that some high schools require all students to wear uniforms, while others do not. I have been to both types of schools, and if I have to decide which one is better, I will pick the former.

Perhaps every student has this experience: once you are in your school uniforms, you will care more about your own behavior. Uniforms give you an identity that always reminds that you belong to a group. What you do will not only represent yourself, but also the group you belong to, as well as the people with you. In other words, you carry the responsibility to maintain the honor of the group. When you are in your own clothes, it doesn’t matter for you to behave badly in public, but when in your uniform, it does. For high school students, who are not adults yet, this is a good way to shape their behavior.

Moreover, uniforms create an atmosphere of equality. While permitted to wear their won clothes, students may pay much attention to what they wear, in order to show how rich their families are. While in uniforms, all students, rich or poor, look the same, and will be treated equally.

Besides, free from the desires to gain what is new in the shopping mall, wearing uniforms helps students to concentrate on their study.

For all the reasons above, I believe that it is a better choice for high school students to wear uniforms.  They can wear them after school or on weekends.

According to the author, high schools that require students to wear uniforms______.

A. are more attractive to students

B.    are more strict with students

C.    carry out a better policy

D.    admit more excellent students.

How many reasons does the author give to support his or her ideas?

A. two              B. three                C. four                   D. five

According to Paragraph 2, wearing uniforms helps students_______.

  A. focus on their study

  B. become responsible

   C. build up their confidence

   D. find the group they belong to

What would be the best title for the passage?

   A. A wise choice, to wear school uniform

   B. An honor, to wear your school uniform

C.A difficult choice, in school uniform or not?

D.A difficult choice, which school should we pick?

閱讀下面短文并回答問題,然后將答案寫到答題卷相應的位置上(請注意問題后的字數(shù)要求)。

Swimming is one of those activities that can be learned early in life. Little children can learn to swim as soon as they walk. In fact, you need the same skills in walking as in swimming. However, I believe that five is the best age to learn. By five or six, a child knows fear of water, a very important thing to know. It’s wise to be afraid, to recognize true danger. Young ones understand that the water can sometimes be very dangerous.

To really benefit from swimming, every swimmer should learn ____________:butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and crawl. I feel that one of these—the breaststroke—is different from the others, since some young swimmers use this stroke naturally, without any training.

In swimming, there are certain rules every swimmer should follow:

(1) Never swim alone! No matter how good you are in the water, don’t risk drowning by swimming alone. If you swim by yourself, with no life guards or friends with you, you may get into trouble.

(2) Don’t go beyond your abilities. Most swimmers know enough not to swim too far from the bank or the beach. Showing off by doing dangerous tricks is no good. Swim safely and you will continue to swim and alive.

(3) Don’t smoke. Swimming depends on a healthy body; good lungs are part of it.

(4) Work at any activity that builds muscles.
