【題目】根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容,從短文后的選項(xiàng)中選出能填入空白處的最佳選項(xiàng)。選項(xiàng)中有兩項(xiàng)為多余選項(xiàng)。
Although most games have winners and losers, the goal of sports is not to win every game. The real goals include getting exercise, having fun, and learning important social skills, like sportsmanship.
Good sportsmanship is all about respect. Good sports (具有運(yùn)動家品格的人) respect the other players on their team. They respect the players on opposing teams. They respect coaches, and they also respect the referees or other officials involved in their games. They shout at their teammates and they talk back to coaches or referees.
Kids usually learn sportsmanship ─ good and bad ─ from the adults in their lives. If parents and coaches show disrespect to other fans, referees, or each other, kids will likely act the same way on the field.
Some of them are very basic and easy to do, like shaking hands with other players before a game. Other examples may take a little more courage, such as acknowledging a great play made by the opposing team.
Learning good sportsmanship is important because it helps you develop an attitude of graciousness (禮貌) and respect that will carry over into all the other areas of your life! Being a good sport in the classroom will eventually lead to being a good sport in the workplace.
So be a good sport in whatever you do! When others see you acting in a way that makes it clear that winning isn't the most important thing, you can move on to focusing on the important things, like having fun, getting exercise, and improving your skills.
A. Good sportsmanship can be shown in many ways.
B. On the contrary, bad sportsmanship is all about disrespect.
C. The example you set can be a powerful teaching tool for others.
D. Players 'parents and coaches set examples that kids tend to follow.
E. We can be good sports by encouraging others but not laughing at them.
F. Starting as a good sport earlier will help you be a good sport as you get old.
G. If you're a good sport on the field, you'll also likely be a good sport in the classroom.

【題目】根據(jù)短文理解,選擇正確答案。
When I spent the summer with my grandmother, she always set me down to the general store with a list. Behind the counter was a lady like no one I'd ever seen.
“Excuse me,” I said. She looked up and said, “I'm Miss Bee.”
“I need to get these.” I said, holding up my list. “So? Go get them. ” Miss Bee pointed to a sign. “There's no one here except you and me and I'm not your servant, so get yourself a basket from that pile.”
I visited Miss Bee twice a week that summer. Sometimes she shortchanged me. Other times she overcharged. Going to the store was like going into battle. All summer long she found ways to trick me. No sooner had I learned how to pronounce “bicarbonate of soda” and memorized its location on the shelves than she made me hunt for it all over again. But by summer's end the shopping trip that had once taken me an hour was done in 15 minutes. The morning I was to return home, I stopped in to get some run.
“All right, little girl,” she said. “What did you learn this summer?” “That you're a meanie!” I replied. Miss Bee just laughed and said, “I know what you think of me. Well, I don't care! My job is to teach every child I meet life lessons. When you get older you'll be glad!” Glad I met Miss Bee? Ha! The idea was absurd.
Until one day my daughter came to me with homework troubles. “It's too hard,” she said. “Could you finish my math problems for me?”
“If I do it for you, how will you ever learn to do it yourself?” I said. Suddenly, I was back at that general store where I had learned the hard way to add up my bill by myself. Had I ever been overcharged since?
(1)How did the author first shop in the store?
A.She shopped with her grandmother together.
B.Miss Bee gave her a hand.
C.She asked a servant to help her.
D.She served herself.
(2)What can we infer about Miss Bee?

B.She neither shortchanged the author nor overcharged her.
C.Teaching kids lessons was Miss Bee's job at that time.
D.Miss Bee used to learn to pronounce the names of some goods in the store.
(3)The author mentioned her daughter to __________.
A.show her satisfaction with her kid's homework.
B.tell readers Miss Bee's effect on her.
C.inform readers of her irresponsibility for her kid.
D.express her opposition to Miss Bee.

【題目】根據(jù)短文理解,選擇正確答案。
What if our babies could somehow tell us what they're thinking about, what they want, and what makes them unhappy? Robyn Holt, researcher for Baby Talk New Zealand, says they can. Holt heard about baby sign language through an advertisement and decided to go along to a workshop (研討會).
“Sign language is something that's always interested me, and I thought, it could be really cool to try this with a baby because we are always guessing all the time what they actually want.”
Holt started using baby sign language with her baby son Benjamin, now 12, and within two weeks he started to sign the sign for milk. She has since used it with her two younger sons Dominic, 8, and Matthew, 3.
Baby sign language is nothing new: the practice (which is based on adult sign language) has been out in America for more than 30 years. But it is enjoying a rebirth in New Zealand.
The idea behind baby sign language is that babies do have the ability to communicate their needs if they are given the right tools to do so. Although many mothers develop an intuition (直覺) about whether their baby's crying is from hunger, tiredness, or pain, baby sign language creates a direct form of communication that unlocks the mystery.
When babies are between 6-months and 12 to 13-months, parents can begin to teach them sign language: use the sign for milk while feeding, and also talk about milk, so that the child begins to make the link (關(guān)聯(lián)) in their brain. Then they can begin to add other signs, i.e. food, sick or pain.
“I know of one parent. Her child was signing the sign for hurt by his mouth, and she realised his first teeth were growing. It makes life so much easier,” said Holt.
(1)Why did Holt go to the baby sign language workshop?
A.To entertain her own children.
B.To better understand babies' needs.
C.To help babies with language problems.
D.To develop a new system of sign language.
(2)According to the text, baby sign language _____.
A.has been used in New Zealand for 30 years
B.can easily make the parents understood
C.has developed from adult sign language
D.was designed by Robyn Holt
(3)What does the underlined part “the mystery” in Paragraph 5 refer to?
A.The ability to communicate.
B.Mothers' intuitions.
C.The cause of the baby's crying.
D.Baby sign language.
(4)Holt mentioned a parent and her child to show baby sign language is _____.
A.helpful
B.difficult
C.interesting
D.special
