Write NO MORE THAN THREE WORDS for each answer. With an obese (very fat) or overweight population of 66% percent of adults, teaching your kids healthy eating habits is one of the most important things you can do for them as a parent. Most parents and children claim that breakfast is part of their everyday routines. But for many more than you might think, it's not. Children who eat breakfast have higher math grades, have improved reading scores and basically perform better in school. They also tend to have healthier bodies in general, with better-controlled weight levels. When you take them to the grocery store with you, it's doubtless that your children will request the most sugar-filled, fat-injected products on the shelf. But these are not the ones to have in your home-you should avoid buying them at all. Be sure your kids have healthy snacks. Yes, kids like white bread. But any kid can get used to the taste of whole grains. It just takes a little practice. Look for white bread, and add other whole grains into their diet. Start toasting their sandwiches. When it's toasted, it'll be that much harder for them to tell the difference in taste. It's simple, it's true, and it's something you already know: kids who get plenty of exercise are healthier kids. Set limits on the amount of time your child may spend in front of the television or computer screen. Sign them up for plenty of sports and outdoor activities. And best of all, get involved in sports and exercise with them. One of the best things you can do to establish healthy eating habits in your kids is to have them yourself. You can tell your kids every day to eat healthy foods, but if you don't do the same thing yourself, the lesson will never stick.

When we read books we seem to 1 a new world. This new world can be similar to the one we are living in, or it can be very 2 . Some stories are told 3 they were true. Real people 4 live in a normal world do real things; in other words, the stories are about people just like us doing what we do. Other stories, such as the Harry Potter books, are not 5 . They are characters and creatures that are very different from us and do things that would be 6 for us. 7 there is more to books and writing than this. If we think about it, even realistic writing is only imagined. How can we tell the difference between what is real and what is not real? For example, when we read about Harry Potter, we 8 seem to learn something about the real world. And when Harry studies magic at Hogwarts, he also learns more about his real life than 9 . Reading, like writing, is an action. It is a way _10_ living. When we read or write something ,we do much more than simple look at words on a page. We use our 11 -which is real-and our imagination-which is real in a different way-to make the words come to life in our minds. Both realism and fantasy(幻想) 12 the imagination and the “magic” of reading and writing to make us think. When we read 13 realistic, we have to imagine that the people we are reading about are just like us, even though we 14 that we are real and they are 15 . It sounds strange, but it works. When we read, we fill in missing information and 16 about the causes and effects of what a character does. We help the writer by pretending that 17 we read is like real life. In a way, we are writing the book, too. Most of us probably don’t think about what is going on in our 18 when we are reading. We pick up a book and lose 19 in a good story, eager to find out what will happen next. Knowing how we feel 20 we read can help us become better readers, and it will help us discover more about the real magic of books. | ||||
