Doctors say anger can be an extremely damaging emotion, unless you learn how to deal with it.They warn that anger can lead to heart disease, stomach problems, headaches, emotional problems and possibly cancer.

Anger is a normal emotion that we all feel from time to time. Some people express anger openly in a calm reasonable way.Others burst with anger, and scream and yell.Yet a few people keep their anger inside. They can not or will hot express it.This is called repressing anger.

For years many doctors thought that repressing anger was more dangerous to a person's health than expressing it.They said that when a person is angry, the brain releases the same hormones (荷爾蒙).They speed the heart rate, raise blood pressure, or sugar into the blood, etc.In general, the person feels excited and ready to act.

Some doctors say that both repressing and expressing anger can be dangerous. They believe that those who express anger violently may be more likely to develop heart disease, and they believe that those who keep their anger inside may face a greater danger of high blood pressure.

Doctors say the solution is learning how to deal with anger. They say the first step is to admit that you are angry and to recognize the real cause of the anger, men decide if the cause is serious enough to get angry about. If it is, they say, "Do not express your anger while angry.Wait until your anger has cooled down and you are able to express yourself calmly and reasonably."

Doctors say that a good way to deal with anger is to find humor in the situation that has made you angry. They said that laughter is much healthier than anger.

The purpose of communication is to get your message across to others. This is a process that involves both the sender of the message and the receiver. This process leaves room for error, with messages often being misunderstood by one or more of the parties involved. This causes unnecessary confusion.

In fact, a message is successful only when both the sender and the receiver perceive (感知) it in the same way.

By successfully getting your message across(傳遞), you convey your thoughts and ideas effectively. When not successful, the thoughts and ideas that you convey do not necessarily reflect your own, causing a communication breakdown and creating roadblocks that stand in the way of your goals — both personally and professionally.

In a recent survey of recruiters (招募者) in companies with more than 50,000 employees, communication skills were cited as the single more important factor in choosing managers. The survey, conducted by the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz Business School, points out that communication skills, including written and oral presentations, as well as an ability to work with others, are the main factors leading to job success.

In spite of the increasing importance placed on communication skills, many individuals continue to struggle with this, unable to communicate their thoughts and ideas effectively — whether in oral or written form. This inability(無能) makes it nearly impossible for them to compete effectively in the workplace, and stands in the way of career progression.

Getting your message across is essential to progressing. To do this, you must understand what your message is, what audience you are sending it to, and how it will be perceived. You must also consider the circumstances surrounding your communication, such as situational and cultural context.

66. The underlined word “This” in the first paragraph refers to ______.

       A. the purpose of communication

       B. the process of getting your message across to others

       C. the process of letting others know your purpose

       A. the sender and the receiver understand the message in the same way

       B. the sender creates problems in a professional way

       C. the receiver purposely understands the message wrong

       D. the way you send the message creates problems with the receiver

68. _______ make for job success.

       A. Communication skills along with written presentations

       B. Communication skills and ability to cooperate

       C. Written presentations together with ability to work with others

       D. The abilities to cooperate with others

Bullfights always take place in a round arena(競技場). The most important characteristic of the bullfight is that the bullfighter has to fight the bull until he kills it with a sword. Each bullfight consists of three parts. First, the bullfighter fights with a cape(披風(fēng)). When the bull, which is very strong, enters the arena, the bullfighter tries to make the bull tired by making it chase him. Second, the bullfighter’s assistant rides a horse up to the bull and tries to put a sharp stick into the bull’s neck. Third, the bullfighter uses a stick with a red cloth attached to fight the bull. This is a very difficult art. It’s in this part that the bullfighter has to perform the best because this is the time when people will judge if he is a good or bad fighter. This part comes to an end when he kills the bull with a sharp sword. He is considered a good bullfighter if he can kill the bull the first time he tries.
