Inspiration
“Mama, when I grow up, I’m going to be one of those!” I said this after seeing the Capital Dancing Company perform when I was three. It was the first time that my1 took on a vivid form and acted as something important to start my training. As I grew older and was2 to more, my interests in the world of dance3 varied but that little girl’s dream of someday becoming a4 in the company never left me. In the summer of 2005 when I was 18, I received the phone call which made that dream a5; I became a member of the company6 back to 1925.
As I look back on that day now, it surely7 any sense of reality. I believe I stayed in a state of pleasant disbelief8 I was halfway through rehearsals (排練) on my first day. I never actually9 to get the job. After being offered the position, I was completely10. I remember shaking with excitement.
Though I was absolutely thrilled with the change, it did not come without its fair share of11. Through the strict rehearsal period of dancing six days a week, I found it vital to12 up the material fast with every last bit of concentration. It is that extreme13 to detail (細節(jié)) and stress on practice that set us14. To then follow those high-energy rehearsals15 a busy show schedule of up to five performances a day, I discovered a new16 of the words “hard work.” What I thought were my physical17 were pushed much further than I thought18. I learned to make each performance better than the last.
Today, when I look at the unbelievable company that I have the great19 of being a part of, not only as a member, but as a dance captain, I see a20 that has inspired not only generations of little girls but a splendid company that continues to develop and grow-and inspires people every day to follow their dreams.

There is a small shop about 200 meters from where I live that sells groceries, meat and other basic necessities. About 10 years ago, there was a beggar who would go into the shop every day and ask the owner for a 1. The owner,2 he would love to help, simply didn’t have any jobs available, so he kept3 the man’s request.
This situation continued 4 for a few months, until the owner 5  to give the homeless man a job which 6sweeping outside the shop. Every single day from 5 am, the homeless man was there doing the very 7 he could for the 8, even though it did earn him some pennies. 9 , the owner saw how good a job the man was doing and gave him a job working 10a cashier. He was watched closely to make sure that he didn’t 11 any of the money received from the sales. He was still homeless, after all. The homeless man did a/an 12job as a cashier for over 2 years, and did such a good job that he was promoted to 13 the finances for the whole shop.
To my 14, this was the arrangement up until 2 years ago, when the owner  15 . In his will, he only had one 16 , to give the whole shop to the now stable, “homeless” man. Now, I could walk into that shop and see him working as hard as17, with his own business that is still18 and active 10 years after getting his job as a sweeper.
From this story, we can probably get the inspiration: work hard and give everything your best effort, even if it isn’t your 19 situation, it very well may turn out to 20some day in the future.

This little story I’m about to tell you happened when I was about 11 years old, and I’II never forget it. I was at my friend Jenny’s 1 after school one day, and we were doing (or not doing) homework.. 2 I was there, Jenny’s mom came over to visit.
I don’t remember her name3 what her face looked like. I just remember her hands, her voice and the4 she taught me.
I can still see her hand 5 for mine in our introduction. 6 were so beautiful, I thought; rich, dark skin7 complemented(涂了) by the orange colored polish on her nails. Then I 8 her saying, and not at all in a condescending(居高臨下的) 9 .“Oh no, that is NOT how you shake hands. Let me show you 10.”
After that, I just remember her voice 11 the importance of a good handshake, conveying(傳遞) a positive sense of self, looking at 12 person in the eye, making that first moment matter…I think in that exchange I first understood13.
I respected her for 14 the time to teach me about one of those subtleties(細微之處) in life. I appreciated the fact 15 she didn’t look down upon me because I was 11 or because I didn’t know something. And so because of that I felt somewhat respected. I mean the 16 she treated me. It felt good to be 17 like a real person. I also appreciate her idea that 18 someone doesn’t pay attention to something, be patient and point him or her19 the right direction. I20 her every time I meet someone and shake hands. And I’m so thankful for her little lesson.

There are many different ways of seeing a town for the first time. One of them is to walk around it, guide-book 1hand. Of course, we may 2with our guide-books the history and 3developments of a town and get to know them.
4then, if we take our time and 5 in a town for a while, we may get to know it better. When we 6it as a whole, we begin to have some 7, which even the best guide-books do not
answer. Why is the town just 8this —— this shape, this plan, this size? Why do its streets 9 in this particular way, and not in any 10way?
Here even the best guide-book 11us. One can’t find the information in it about how a town has developed to the 12appearance. It may not describe the original 13of a town. However, one may get some idea of what it 14look like by walking around the town. One can also imagine 15the town was first planned and built. Then one can learn more about in what direction the town 16to develop.
What is the 17of studying towns in this way?For me, it is 18 a matter that one gets a greater depth of pleasure by visiting and seeing a town with one’s own eyes. A 19visit to a town may help one better understand why it is attractive 20just reading about it in a guide-book.

On a cold winter morning, my mother and I were walking home from a pizza store. We were dressed warmly and equipped with the video we had been1to watch. I was feeling a little2 , as I was carrying our shopping bags of snacks and the video.
They were so heavy that I decided to3some things. So I started to walk towards the garbage can when I noticed a poor man4his bike out of the restaurant in front of us. He held a paper bag with his dirty hand. He5over to another nearby garbage can and started6 it.
