While watching the Olympics the other night,I came across an incredible sight.The　1　was swimming and started with only three men.For one reason or another,two of them had a　2　start,so they were disqualified.That would have been difficult enough,not having anyone to 　3　against.
I watched the man　4　off the blocks and knew immediately that something was wrong.Now I’m not an expert　5　but I do know a good dive　6　a poor one,and this was not exactly medal　7　.I listened to the crowd begin to　8　this poor man who was clearly having a　9　time.Finally he made his turn to start back.It was　10　.He made a few desperate strokes (劃水) and you could tell he was exhausted.
But in those few　11　strokes,the crowd had changed.No longer were they laughing,but beginning to　12　.Some even began to　13　things like,“Come on,you can do it！”,and he　14　finished his race.The crowd went　15　.Even though he recorded one of the　16　times in Olympic history,this man gave more heart than any of the other　17　.
In a competition where athletes remove their silver medals,feeling they have　18　been cheated out of gold,or when they act so　19　in front of their competitors,it is nice to watch an underdog (失敗者),a man that gave his all—knowing that he had no chance,but competed because of his　20　and the spirit of the games.

Not too long ago, an incident that happened at Walt Disney touched me greatly. A guest 1 out of our Polynesian Village resort(度假勝地)at Walt Disney was asked how she 　2 her visit. She told the front-desk clerk she had had a(n) 3 vacation, but was heartbroken about　 4 several rolls of Kodak color film she had not yet 　5 . At that moment she was particularly 　6 over the loss of the pictures she had shot at our Polynesian Luau, 　7 this was a memory she especially treasured.

Now, please understand that we have no written service rules 8 lost photos in the park. 9 , the clerk at the front desk 　10 Disney’s idea of caring for our 　11 . She asked the woman to leave her a couple rolls of 　12 film, promising she would take care of the rest of our show at Polynesian Luau.

Two weeks later the guest received a 13 at her home. In it were photos of all the actors of our show, 　14 signed by each performer. There were also 　15 of the public procession (游行隊(duì)伍) and fireworks in the park, taken by the front-desk clerk in her own 16 after work. I happened to know this 17 because this guest wrote us a letter. She said that 　18 in her life had she received such good service from any business.

Although I love my life, it hasn’t been a lot of fun as I’ve been ill for 28 years.

Music has always been a great love of mine and, in my 20s, when my 　1 was more manageable , I 2　 ten years as a professional singer in restaurants, playing and singing folk songs. 　3　 that was years ago and times have changed. 　4　 I live with mother on a country farm

Two years ago, I decided that I would need to have some kind of extra work to 　5 my disability pension (殘疾撫恤金). 　6 I needed to sleep in the afternoons, I was limited in my 　7　 . I decided that I would consider 8　 to singing in restaurants.

My family are all musicians, so I was 　9 when I went into our local music store. I explained that I wanted to sing again but using recorded karaoke music. I knew that discs were very expensive and I really didn’t have a lot of　 10　 to get started. And 11　 you find only three to four songs out of ten on a disc that you can 　12　 use.

When I told the owner of the shop about my 　13　 ; he gave me a long thoughtful 　 14　 . “This means a lot to you, doesn’ t it?” he said. “Come with me.”

He led me 　15 the crowded shop and to a bench with a large professional karaoke box on it. He placed his large hand 16 on his treasure and said, “I have 800 karaoke songs in here. You can take your 17 and I’ll record them for you. That should get you started.”

A friend of mine met with a car accident in darkness. His legs were so hurt that he couldn't move. 1__ was worse was that he found he was unable to ask for help—his mobile phone went out of work __2__exhausted (用盡的) battery. Nothing could be done but to 　3__ in the cold wilderness, it was 6 hours later that day broke, and then the 4 of the rescue team.
