閱讀下面的短文,然后按照要求寫一篇150詞左右的英語(yǔ)短文。
Nowadays, competition has almost become a natural part in every aspect of our life. Each of us has to face it because it has got a lot of advantages. Firstly, competition makes people more creative and effective. It urges them to plan better, to try harder, and to achieve more. With a desire to excel in their work, people tend to perform more creatively and more efficiently.
Secondly, competition helps produce better products and provide better services. In the present world of intense competition, every manufacturer tries his best to outmatch his competitor by producing goods of better quality at lower costs. As a result, consumers pay less and receive better service.
Thirdly, competition promotes further development of society. If there were no competition, people would remain complacent(沾沾自喜)and be unwilling to make any efforts or risk anything new. However, with fierce competition going on, they exert themselves to accomplish more. Their accomplishment will, in one way or another, contribute to the progress of society.

He begged for help from passers-by,but they all pretended not to have heard what he was saying and went by quickly. Then he stopped me and wanted me to give him the help. At first I could not accept that because I didn't think he was telling the truth. But when I saw tears in his eyes,I began to believe that he might be in the real trouble,so,just immediately I gave him all the money I had. When he took the money, his face turned red. Before he left,he expressed his great thanks and also said he would give back my money when he reached home.
When I came back to school and told my classmates about my story, they held different opinions. A young ensign (海軍少尉) was given the opportunity to prepare his ship to “set sail”. Soon the ship was driven slowly out of the channel. The ensign’s efficiency was remarkable. In fact, the talk was that he had set a new record for getting the ship underway. Later he was handed a radio message from the captain.
“My personal congratulations on completing the sail with amazing speed,” it read, “but next time wait until your captain goes aboard before getting underway!”
What good is a ship without the captain? The ensign did all the right things, but he never did the most important thing!
It is a matter of priorities (優(yōu)先). You may accomplish a great deal every day. But are you accomplishing the truly important things? Have you put first things first?
In work and study, in the areas of mental, physical and spiritual health, are you truly doing the important things?

Possible Version 1:
More than 2,500 years ago in China, a famous scholar and his disciple couldn’t enter a city because the city gate had been closed. They had to stay outside the city for the night. At midnight it suddenly began to snow and they were dying of cold. In order to survive, the scholar asked his disciple to lend him his coat, but was refused at once. Since neither of them was willing to help the other, both died of cold before dawn.
We can learn from the story that we cannot force others to do what they don’t want to do or that there are some tests in life that not everyone can pass.
Possible Version 2:

At midnight it suddenly began to snow and they were dying of cold. In order to survive, the scholar asked his disciple to lend him his coat, but was refused at once. Disappointedly, the scholar put his own coat on his disciple, and finally died of cold before dawn.
We can learn from the story that we cannot always expect others to be as noble as ourselves.

My views on watching TV
Watching TV has many advantages. It’s a good way to help us relax. TV makes it possible for us to see many kinds of entertainments in a short time, and watching TV helps us learn a lot.
From my point of view, watching TV has a lot of advantages, but also some disadvantages. On the one hand, watching TV helps us relax and enjoy ourselves. What’s more, it can help us gain a lot of knowledge that cannot be learned from our textbooks. On the other hand, watching TV takes up a lot of our time. And it does great harm to our eyes if we watch it for too long.
I suppose middle school students can watch TV after they finish their homework or during weekends and holidays, but we must first ensure that our studies are going well. Good learners can combine studying and watching TV. Watching TV can be both educational and entertaining.
