1、Recently we have had a heated discussion in our class about the news that Peking University allows a very small number of headmasters to recommend suitable students for it.

Some students are in favor of it because they think by means of recommendation more excellent students can go to Peking University. Moreover, the recommended students are more outstanding.

However, the rest don’t think so. The reason is that different headmasters have different standards for choosing excellent students and many students win mainly owing to their higher exam scores, which is against Peking University’s original ideas.

In my opinion, what Peking University does is worth praising. However, it should have proper standards to test the recommended students and give a chance to the students who have some special talents.
