Passage 2(2015 南京,D)
Nowadays, the food that you buy comes from many different countries.Have a look in your fridge, cupboard, and fruit bowl and check the origins (來源) of the food.Perhaps there are apples yBB from California, lamb from New Zealand,or potatoes from Egypt? You will probably be surprised how far food travels to get to your plate. This journey, from u field to plate”,is called“food miles”. A food mile is the distance that food travels from the farmers field to the person who buys the food.Nowa?days, food often travels thousands of miles to get to the consumer ( 費者) .Why is this, and what are the effects (影響) of these long dis?tances?
Traditionally, farmers sold their food in the local market,so the food didn't have to travel very far. The consumers also did not travel very far because they went to their local market to buy the food. This was a good system for farmers and consumers. However, there were some disadvantages. For example, consumers could only buy food that farmers produced locally. In addition, they could only get food that was in season. Now,because of modern technology, food comes from all over the world. We do not have to wait for spring or summer to buy strawberries or tomatoes. They are available in winter if we want.
Some countries have to import (進口) most of their food. This is because they have difficult climates. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) ,for example, gets 85% of its food from other countries.Even food made in the UAE often uses imported materials.
Whafs wrong withu food milesIs this not a good way of in?creasing international trade? I believe these miles are worrying for a number of reasons. First of all, because food travels such long dis?tances,we need more planes, lorries, and ships to move the food. This means we use more oil or petrol,so there is more pollution and more global (全球的) wanning. In addition, food that travels a long way is not fresh and usually not very tasty.Tomatoes, for example, are picked early and stored for their long journeys. For this reason, they are usu?ally tasteless when they get to the consumer. Local food has a better taste, and it also reduces the amount of global pollution. We need to buy more local food.

Passage 10( 2013 四川成都)
What makes a group smart and able to solve problems successfully and produce good solutions? Or we may ask : what makes a group intelligent? A group's IQ (智商) ,we might think, would be simply ihe average intelligence (平均智力) of the group's members,or perhaps the intelligence of the group's smartest member. But some scientists have found that this isn’t so.
A group's intelligence comes out from communications that go on within the group.A group's intelligence can be calculated, and like the IQ grades of a single person, and it can predict the group^ performance on lots of kinds of tasks perfectly.Just like a single person's intelligence can be trained and developed,a group^ intelligence can also he increased. Here are some suggestions on how to guide the development of smart groups :
Personally, you can choose group members carefully. The smartest groups are made up of people who are good at reading one another's social signs. And then it's better for you to talk about the 44howGroups who take the time to discuss how they will work together are more well-organized and successful.
As a group member,it is also very important for you to share (分 享) the floor in the formal (正式的) meetings. The members who just control the discussion or who stay away and don't say much make the intelligence of the group lower. But in the smart group, members connect directly with each other, not just with the group leader. They always take an active part in every small conversation that could be added to the main discussion.Outside of formal meetings, the smartest groups spend a lot of time communicating, too. All members can havea coffee break at the same time, leading them to do their work more professionally and feel more pleased with their jobs.

Under the Dome (《彎頂之下》) ,a 103-minute documentary self-funded by former news anchor Chai Jing, was released on videosharing websites in China on Feb 28th. It has rapidly drawn the public's attention about air pollution and encouraged people to join in efforts to make a difference.
A recent study found people's lives are made shorter in North China.lt showed the life expectancy (預(yù)期壽命) had been cut down by 5. 5 years there. Researchers think that the heavy air pollution in China should be to blame (承擔責任) .It's really the truth. Our government has already clone something. However,it doesn’t seem to work so well.
“Air pollution in China is doing harm to people's health. The harm is much more serious than we can imagine”' said Chen Yuyu of Beijing University, one of the researchers of this study.
Dirty air brings serious problems in North China. In Januaiy this year, the air pollution was worse than that in other places. That was caused by rising temperature and waste gas (廢氣) from coal heating.
Chinese government should strongly fight against air pollution. They should think of more proper ways to deal with the problem. People should be encouraged to take buses, ride bicycles or walk, instead of driving cars. The factories that pollute heavily should be closed.
“We need to improve our environment, although it might be expensive.Protecting our environment means protecting ourselves, Li Hongbin, another researcher of the study said.
