【題目】Excuse me. I can't enter the museum. Could you help me?

Sorry, the museum __________ today. It will be open tomorrow.

A.doesn't openB.hasn't openedC.openD.opens

【答案】A

【解析】

句意:——打擾一下,我不能進(jìn)入博物館,你能幫我嗎?——抱歉,博物館今天不開門,它明天才開門。

考查時(shí)態(tài)。open打開,opens三單;doesn’t open不開,三單;hasn’t open沒開,現(xiàn)在完成時(shí)否定。由“It will be open tomorrow”可知,今天不開;主語為“the museum”,故選A。

【題目】根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容,選擇正確答案。
As we know, there are differences between western culture and Chinese culture. We can see differences when we pay attention to the way words are used. Let's look at the words about animals and plants. Most expressions in Chinese about the dog, for example, "a homeless dog", "a mad dog", "a running dog" and "a dog catching a mouse" have negative(消極的) meanings. But in western countries, dogs are thought to be honest and good friends of humans. In English, people use the dog to describe positive(積極的) actions. For example, "you are a lucky dog" means you are a lucky person. And "every dog has its day" means each person has good luck sometimes. To describe a person's serious illness, they say "sick as a dog". The word "dog-tired" means very tired. However, Chinese love cats very much. But in western culture, "cat" is often used to describe a woman who is cruel(殘酷的)。
The rose is regarded as a symbol (象征) of love in both China and some western countries. People think the rose means love, peace, courage and friendship. And the rose is the national flower of England, America and many other countries.
The words about plants and animals are used in positive or negative ways in different cultures. We can learn about many differences in cultures by comparing how some words are used.

【題目】閱讀理解。
Have you ever experienced the feeling of falling as you start to fall asleep? Sometimes you may come to realize this feeling. If so, don't worry. Many people have felt the same thing.
In fact, these muscle twitches (肌肉抽搐) in the arms, legs or other parts of the body are called hypnic jerks (入睡抽動(dòng)) or sleep starts. And they are very common. Up to 70 percent of people experience them sometimes, Huffington Post reported. But what causes it?
There are some theories(理論). Some scientists believe that the feeling of falling comes from the body relaxing itself, especially if the person is anxious or unable to get comfortable. As you're about to sleep, your muscles become relaxed. But your brain stays awake. It misunderstands the relaxing of your muscles as a sign that you're falling.
Then the brain jerks the body awake as if it's trying to protect you.
Other scientists believe that different phases of sleep might cause the hypnic jerks. When we sleep, we experience two phases: non-rapid eye movement (NREM) and rapid eye movement (REM). During REM, our heart rate (心率), breathing and nervous system can act irregularly (不規(guī)律地). If the body experiences flashes (一瞬間) of REM while entering sleep, these irregularities could cause twitches.
If you don't want to experience hypnic jerks, scientists have some suggestions. When you become deeply relaxed, you can learn how to reconnect slowly by moving your fingers and toes a little bit. Then start to move your head and open your eyes, while being aware of yourself as you get out of the relaxed state.
But experts agree that hypnic jerks, though sometimes scary, are harmless. If it wakes you up, simply roll over and go back to sleep. But keep in mind: a caffeinated (含咖啡因的) drink, exciting evening activities or stress may make hypnic jerks happen more often.
(1)The third paragraph mainly tells us_____________.
A.there are all kinds of theories about hypnic jerks
B.different phases of sleep might cause hypnic jerks
C.People sometimes get anxious or uncomfortable
D.the feeling of falling comes from the body relaxing itself
(2)How many theories on what causes hypnic jerks are mentioned?
A.Two
B.Four
C.Three
D.Five
(3)Which of the following can make hypnic jerks happen more often?
①Drinking caffeinated drink ②Singing songs for a long time before sleep
③Too much stress ④reading a book quietly
A.①②③
B.①②④
C.②③④
D.①③④
(4)What is the best title?
A.How to Experience Hypnic Jerks
B.What causes Hypnic Jerks
C.Feelings of Falling While Going to Sleep
D.Sleeping Is Good for Our Health
