讀寫(xiě)任務(wù) (滿分25分)
閱讀下面的短文,按照要求寫(xiě)一篇150詞左右的短文。
I have a friend who always smiles even when he’s angry. He even smiles when he has got a headache. I ask him about it and this is the answer, “I try to smile even when I’m breathing or even when I’m sad. Smile is good for your health.”
I’m not a medical student, so I don’t know if there is a medical explanation for why smiling is healthy. But my friend looks younger than his age, maybe because of his habit of smiling. He is a funny, nice, and happy person. He handles all the problems that come to him with a patient smile. He’s not a person in a hurry. His life seems so relaxing but I know for sure, his life is full of problems and his job is full of deadlines, as he lives in a big expensive city on a middle salary… I think hurry and stress is normal, but not for him. He keeps smiling.
I try to do it. I have learnt to smile and it’s fun. Every time a problem comes to me, or I’m stressed, or I’m upset, I try to smile.

The author tells us the story of his friend. His friend keeps smiling even when he meets all kinds of problems. The author tries to learn from his friend.
A smile shows our inner state of emotions, a positive attitude towards life, and is a way to express our feelings. A natural smile is worth a thousand words. It can close the distance between people. When we are faced with some difficulties, a smile can give us confidence.
I will never forget the smile on the faces of the volunteers of the Olympic Games and the Shanghai Expo which showed their friendship, generosity and warmness. And I will never forget the smile on the faces of the waiter in the restaurant, the doorman at the hotel entrance, the teacher in the classroom and the nurse in the hospital. All these smiles are so beautiful that we feel the world is so nice. (29+123)

讀寫(xiě)任務(wù)(滿分25分)
閱讀下面的短文,然后按照要求寫(xiě)一篇150詞左右的英語(yǔ)短文。
I started thinking about this issue at my brother-in-law's 60th birthday party last Saturday. Before we ate the main meal we sat around a table that was loaded with large bowls of snack items - chocolate-covered peanuts, cherries(櫻桃), and a few other things. The eater had to reach into the bowl and grab a handful of snacks and then convey them to the mouth with the other hand. A lot of people were strangers to me and I observed a cat being carried around, a dog being petted, and a number of noses being blown, between eating handfuls of snacks. Ugh!
I started thinking about Chinese table manners. My wife and I will share things from the same plate or cup but we always put serving spoons out with the dishes on the table. We don't frequently use them, though. In my family we use our personal chopsticks to take food from the serving dishes. But we are careful and only touch the food we will eat ourselves.
I have heard of some people who use two sets of chopsticks, one for eating, and one for serving. I have also seen some people who invert their chopsticks, that is, to serve other people with the other ends that haven't touched their lips.

[閱讀材料]
The way people hold the belief that a fun-filled, pain-free lifestyle equals happiness actually reduces their chances of ever obtaining real happiness. If fun and pleasure are equal to happiness, then pain must be equal to unhappiness. But in fact, the opposite is true: more often than not things that lead to happiness contain some pain.
As a result, many people avoid the very attempts that are the source of true happiness. They fear the pain inevitably (不可避免地) brought by such things as marriage, raising children, professional achievement, religious commitment, self-improvement.
Ask a bachelor why he resists marriage even though he finds dating to be less and less satisfying. If he is honest,he will tell you that he is afraid of making a commitment, for commitment is in fact quite painful. The single life is filled with fun, adventure and excitement.Marriage has such moments, but they are not its most distinguishing features.
Couples, with infant children, are lucky to get a whole night’s sleep of a three-day vacation. We don’t know any parent who would choose the word fun to describe raising children. But couples that decide not to have children ever know the joys of watching a child grow up or playing with a grandchild.
