Embroidering(刺繡)
When I was a little boy living in New York, my mother used to embroider a great deal. I would sit at her knee and look up from the 36 and ask what she was doing. She 37 me that she was embroidering. I told her that it looked like a mess from where I was. As from the underside I watched her work within the 38 of the little round hoop(鐵環(huán))that she held in her hand, I complained to her that it sure looked 39 from where I sat.
She would smile at me, look down and 40 say, "My son, you go about your 41 for a while, and when I am finished with my embroidering, I will put you on my 42 and let you see it from my side."
I would wonder why she was using some dark threads along with the 43 ones and why they seemed so jumbled(混亂的)from my 44 . A few minutes would pass and then I would hear Mother's voice say, " Son, come and sit on my knee." This I did only to be surprised and 45 to see a beautiful flower or a sunset. I could not 46 it, because from underneath it looked so messy.
Then mother would 47 to me, "My son, from underneath it did look messy and jumbled, but you did not realize that there was a 48 plan on the top. It was a 49 . I was only following it. Now look at it from my side 50 you will see what I was doing."
Many 51 through the years, I have 52 up to my Heavenly Father and said, “ Father, what are You doing? ” He 53 , “ I am embroidering your 54 . ”I say, " But it looks like a mess to me. It seems so jumbled. The threads seem so dark. Why can't they all be bright ? " The Father seems to tell me, " My child, you go about your business of doing My business, and one day I will bring you to 55 and put you on my knee and you will see the plan from My side. "

As from the underside I watched her work可以推測(cè)得知孩子應(yīng)該是站在低處看母親刺繡,所以看到的是絲線雜亂。
that she was embroidering.
從下文why they seemed so jumbled(混亂的)可知在刺繡的背面線是雜亂的,故A選項(xiàng)正確。
從下文when I am finished with my embroidering, I will put you on可知母親在刺繡,按情理應(yīng)該是讓孩子去玩一會(huì),回頭再讓孩子來看。
Son, come and sit on my knee."
The threads seem so dark. Why can't they all be bright ?
My son, from underneath it did look messy and jumble可知此處是母親在和孩子說話,C選項(xiàng)正確。
Look at it from my side 和 you will see what
I was doing是兩個(gè)并列句,前后表示順承關(guān)系。
A 次數(shù);B 天,日子;C 季節(jié);D 機(jī)會(huì)。
A 爬;B跳;C 喊,嚷;D 看。 Heavenly Father,look up to 仰視,尊敬;D選項(xiàng)正確。
Father, what are You doing?
A決定;B 機(jī)會(huì),財(cái)富;C 生活;D 生意。

On a cold winter day, I waited in line to see my hero, Jack Canfield, the author of The Success Principles, who was going to deliver a speech on his new book.
During his talk, Jack 41 his wallet, pulled out a hundred-dollar bill, and said, ‘‘Who wants this?” 42 shot up in the audience; people leaned forward to see whom Jack would 43 . But I jumped up, ran up the 44 to the stage, and grabbed the bill. As I was launching myself in the air, 45 raced through my mind — was I about to be humiliated(羞辱) in front of 800 people? Would they 46 security guards and take me from the stage? 47 my desire for bold (大膽的)action was louder than any 48 voice. As I got the bill from his hand, he said, “That’s it! We can’t wait for the 49 to come to us. We must take 50 to create what we want!’’
After his talk, I 51 to formally meet Jack and boldly asked for his personal e-mail address. Over the next months, I sent him emails 52 my points of view and dreams with him. He kindly e-mailed back lots of encouragement. But my life got busy 53 other things. I stopped e-mailing Jack.
A year later, my dreams had worn away. I thought Jack would inspire me into action, like a giant arrow that would show me the way.
I e-mailed him, and then again — but got no 54 . As I sat down at my computer to 55 my e-mails, I 56 woke up. What was I doing? I was waiting! Now I remembered the crowd, most likely 57 that hundred-dollar bill, while they sat glued to their chairs.
Usually we all have a “Jack” for whom we wait — whether it’s a person, a place or a thing. We 58 believe the gifts of life are just around the corner, and that everything will come in a(n) 59 way. So we don’t try. We 60 . But as Wayne Gretzky said,“You’ll always miss 100% of the opportunities you don’t take!” So I stopped waiting and started my writing career.
Now what are you waiting for?

I was watching a TV series one night when I took in one scene. A young man was seeking his community votes, and people 36 wanted to know why they should give him their 37 . He took them to his house and on every 38 in his house was the word “Faith” pasted. People raised lots of 39 to find out why the word was pasted on his mirrors. He said, “My dad often 40 me to believe that as long as you have 41 , you should have faith. Every time you look into the mirror, you’re looking at yourself and see ‘Faith’.”
The 42 I learned from this is simple—faith is a living thing and in the same way we’re all 43 given 24 hours a day and we’re all given the same measure of faith. Faith keeps us going when things get 44 ! Why is some people’s faith stronger than that of others? Exercise! If we choose to exercise our faith, it will 45 ; but if we choose not to, it remains weak. Some people might 46 that they don’t have faith, but we all practice faith every day even if we don’t 47 it as a faith. Daily 48 , such as studying, investing or reaching for a dream, take faith.
Faith 49 hearing and doing. I made a decision yesterday—to 50 reading the newspapers full of too much sad and 51 news. Why? Because I 52 there was a drop of my mental state after reading the newspapers.
Faith, when it’s put to 53 , becomes a beautiful thing. It lifts your mental state to a higher place that 54 you to raise yourself up and declare, “Yes, I can.” So make the decision today to strengthen your faith by 55 it.
