Fifteen years spent in the field of education has provided me with many treasured moments. One of the most unforgettable       when I was teaching second        , 10 years ago.
In May I decided to plan something special for the children: a Mother’s Day tea. We had put our heads together to       ideas of how to       our mothers. We practiced singing songs, memorized poems and wrote cards. We decided to hold our tea the Friday before Mother’s Day.  I was surprised and      to learn that every mother was planning to attend. I     invited my own mother.
Finally, the big day arrived. Each child      up at our classroom door, expecting the arrival of his or her mom.     it got closer to starting time, I looked around and my eyes quickly found Jimmy. His mother hadn’t shown up and he was looking       .
I took my mother by the hand and walked over to Jimmy. “Jimmy,” I said, “I have a bit of problem here and I was     if you could keep my mother       while I’m busy.”
My mom and Jimmy sat at a table. Jimmy      my mom her treats, presented her with the gift I had made, just as we had       the day before. Whenever I looked over, my mother and Jimmy were in deep       .
Now 10 years later, I work with students of all ages, educating them about the environment. Last year, I took a senior class on a field trip, and there was Jimmy. I had the students complete an outline of the day’s     and an evaluation of our trip. Then I collected the students’ booklets and checked them to see if      was completed. When I came       Jimmy’s page, he had written “Remember our Mother’s Day tea we had in second grade, Mrs. Marra? I do! Thanks for all you did for me, and thank your mother, too.”
I told him I really enjoyed what he had written. He looked rather embarrassed and    his own thanks and walked away. Suddenly he ran back and gave me a big hug. “Thanks again. No one even knew my mother didn’t      it.”
I ended my workday with a hug from a teenage boy who had      stopped hugging teachers years ago.

My nephew's 10-year-old son came for a visit one hot,July weekend. I persuaded him to inside and joined him in a game. After for an hour, I suggested that we relax for a while. I fell into my favorite recliner(躺椅)to let my neck muscles relax. He'd slipped out of the room and I was catching a few enjoyable moments of peace and quiet.
"Look,Alice,”he said as he ran over to the chair where I was sitting"I found a kite. Could we go outside and it?"
Glancing out a nearby window, I noticed it was outside.“I'm sorry, Tripper,.” I said, sad to see his eyes. "The wind is not blowing today. The kite won't fly.”
The 10-year-old replied,“I think it's windy enough. I can get it to fly,”he answered as he ran out to the back door Up and down in the yard he ran, pulling the kite to a small length of string. He ran back and forth,as hard as his ten year-old legs would carry him, looking back at the kite behind. After about ten minutes of unsuccessful determination, he came back in.
I asked, "How did it go?"
"Fine,”he said, not wanting to admit .“I got it to fly some”
As he walked past me to return the kite to the closet shelf, I heard him say under his breath, "I guess I'll have to wait for the .”
At that moment I heard another Voice speak to my . "Alice, sometimes you are just like that. You want to do it your way instead of waiting for the Wind.,,
And the voice was right. We usually want to use our own efforts to what we want to do. We wait for the Wind only after we have done all we can and have exhausted(耗盡) our own   .We must learn how to rely on Him in the first place!

I'd been travelling for long hours on a lonely country road when I had a flat tire. So I had to stop and get the tools to       the problem. It certainly wasn’t       doing this with a white shirt and suit on.
Nightfall was approaching. Suddenly a car pulled       from behind me. A man got out and offered to         me. Seeing his unpleasant appearance and tattoos(紋身)on his arm, I became        as thoughts of robberies flashed through my mind. But       I could say anything he had already begun to take the tools to change the       . While watching him I happened to look back at his car and noticed someone sitting in the passenger seat. This had        me.
Then, without       , it began to rain. He suggested that I wait in his car because my car was unsafe. As the rain increased, getting us wet within seconds, I        agreed. When I settle into the back seat, a woman’s voice came from the front seat. “Are you all right?” She turned around to me. “Yes, I am.’’ I replied with much        when seeing an old woman there. To my      , the old woman was a neighbor of the man who was helping me. “Jeff insisted on stopping when he saw you      with the tire. ”“I am grateful for his help, ” I said. “Me, too!” she said with a smile. He helped drive her to see her husband twice a week in a nursing home. She also said that he       at the church and tutored disadvantaged students.
The rain stopped and Jeff and I changed the tire. I tried to offer him money and of course he     it. It was shameful that I judged people by the way they       . As we shook hands I began to apologize for my     . He said, ‘‘I experience that same        often. People who look like me don’t do nice things. I        thought about changing the way. But then I saw this as a chance to make a       . So I’ll leave you with the same question I ask everyone who takes time to know me. If Jesus returned tomorrow and walked among us again, would you recognize Him by what He wore or by what He did?’’
