This computer looks very similar to that one, but the salesman charged me almost_______ for it.
A.a(chǎn)s many twiceB.twice as many
C.twice as muchD.a(chǎn)s much twice
C

1. “A+倍數(shù)+形容詞或副詞的比較級+than+B”,表示“A比B大(長、高、寬等)多少倍”。如:
This rope is twice longer than that one.
2.“A+倍數(shù)+as+形容詞或副詞的原級+as+B”,表示“A正好是B的多少倍”。如:
Asia is four times as large as Europe.
3. “A+倍數(shù)+the size/height/length/width, etc+of+B”,表示“A正好是B的多少倍”。如:
This street is four times the length of that one.
4. “……times+what+從句”。如:
The production is now three times what it was ten years ago.

A. Live below your means
B. Always stay positive
C. Educate yourself
D. Work towards a dream
E. Developing lasting personal relationships
F. Stay in shape
小題1:____________
We all want to buy that new piece of technology, treat ourselves to an expensive dinner, or take out a loan for the car we can't afford. It might feel great at the time but hasty(匆忙的)spending hurts a lot later on. Enjoy life's simple pleasures and save as much as you can. Expensive things don't create lasting happiness. Careful spending will bring you greater enjoyment in the long run.
小題2:_____________
To be happy we need continuous growth. The best way to grow is life-long education. This doesn't mean you need to pursue a doctorate or spend 2 hours reading every day. Self-education can be anything that takes you out of your comfort zone. The important part is keeping an open mind and searching for fresh ideas.
小題3:____________
Suppose you had everything you wanted. Would you be happy without anyone to share it with? The personal relationships we develop with friends and family members are the greatest source of happiness in our lives. Don't forget about them. Taking the time to develop and enjoy personal relationships is important to long-term happiness.
小題4:_____________
Even if your life isn't perfect, you can always build toward a goal. The best way to do this is working towards a goal. We can’t control everything about our lives, but working towards a goal gives us something positive to focus on and lays the foundation for future success. No matter what your passion is, get out there and start doing something.
小題5:_____________
You only get one body. Once it is ruined, there isn't much you can do about it. Exercise to keep the body working well. Avoid eating too much of damaging substances and unhealthy foods. It may feel terrible at the time but enjoying good health in your later years is worth the sacrifice.

A bicycle helmet is a helmet intended to be worn while riding a bicycle. They are designed to reduce impacts to the skull(頭顱骨) of a cyclist in falls. However, there is a debate on whether helmets are useful for road cyclists.
The World Health Organization promotes the use of helmets as a strategy for preventing people' s heads from being injured by bicycle crashes or falls.Use of cycling helmets is supported by numerous groups in the United States. US-based cycling activist John Forester suggests that helmet wearing could prevent 300 deaths a year in the United States out of a total of 1530 preventable deaths.Public Health Law Research reports that there is enough evidence to establish that bicycle helmet laws are an effective public health intervention(干涉)aimed to reduce the number of head-related deaths.Received opinion in some countries is that bicycle helmets are useful and that every cyclist should wear one. Professional bodies elsewhere have agreed, such as the Swiss Council for Accident Prevention.
Mayer Hillman, a transport and road safety analyst from the UK, does not support the use of helmets, reasoning that they are of very limited value in the event of a collision(碰撞) with a car. He compares it to drawing conclusions on whether it is worthwhile to buy lottery tickets. Cyclists' representative groups complain that focus on helmets diverts(轉(zhuǎn)移) attention from other issues which are much more important for improving bicycle safety, such as road danger reduction. The UK's largest cyclists' organization, the CTC, believes that the "overall health effects of compulsory helmets are negative.'' The same report estimated(估計) that universal helmet use would save the life of one child aged 0 to 15 each year.
Up to now, the debate is with no consensus(共識), but an organization has published a review of studies in 2011, saying there is a good deal of evidence that those wearing a helmet are more likely to crash than bareheaded cyclists.
