People learn and share information through communication. All forms of communication have one thing in common: the sending and receiving of a message. Using different kinds of communication, people can pass along their ideas and feelings to just one person or to millions.

Humans invented writing more than 5,000 years ago. The ancient Sumerian people developed the first known script (文字), called cuneiform (楔形文字). Then the ancient Egyptians developed a picture-based writing called hieroglyphics (象形文字). The invention of the printing press in the 1400s was a major advance in written communication. 【4】

Telecommunication is communication over long distances. In ancient times pigeons carried written messages. Before trains and cars, messengers on foot or on horseback carried letters. 【5】 Since then, telecommunication has become faster thanks to television, telephones, and the Internet.

As the saying goes, time is money. But in my opinion, time is even precious than money. Why? Because when money is spent, we still have a chance to earn them back. But when time is wasting, we can never get it back. There is some doubt that time is very limited, and even a minute is of great valuable. We should make full use of time to do that should be done. It’s the pity that a lot of people still didn’t appreciate the value of time. They are wasting their time doing nothing of useful. We should form the good habit of race against time and make a difference in our world.

I still remember that night after my senior high school entrance examination. Even though I was at the top of my class , I was not good in history. At around 10 pm, I tried to sleep ,and my eyes just wouldn’t close. Suddenly , I saw my dad coming into my room, with smile on his face ,asked me to go to sleep. I told him that I couldn’t get to sleep. He called me into my room and put his hand on my head. I didn’t even realize that I had fallen asleep. I took up my exam the next day and the result was satisfied. It’s tough to put into word what parents do for us but times like this reminds me just how wonderful parents truly are.

I have recently been told that listen to loud music is gradually making people hard of hearing. I'm sure it has already been happened to my neighbor. During my last winter holiday, I went to countryside with my father to visit my grandparents. I find a big change there. The first time I went there, they were living in a small house with dogs, ducks, and another animals. Last winter when I went here again, they had a big separate house to raise dozens of chicken. They also had a small pond which they raised fish. My grandpa said last summer they earned quite a lot by sell the fish. I felt happily that their life had improved. At the end of our trip, I told my father that I planned to return for every two years, but he agreed.
