One possible version:

One day, I was walking home after school, when suddenly an old man fell down on the snowy road. There were several people passing by at that time, but no one would take any action. Some said that it was none of their business; some worried that if they helped, they might be blamed for it. Seeing what had happened, I called 120 without hesitation. While waiting for the ambulance, I took off my coat to keep him warm. Fortunately, the ambulance came soon. Having helped the doctors carry the old man into the ambulance, I felt relieved.

Several days later, the old man came to my school to express his thanks and give me some money as a reward, but I refused. To my surprise, the school learned about it and I was praised at the school meeting for my good deeds. In my opinion, I just did what I should and it is our duty to help those who are in trouble. Only in this way can we live in a harmonious society.
