In the professional world, oral communication skills in the workplace, which are the art of using speech to convey information, thoughts and feelings to others, are important for the success of any organizations.
The 21st century has been considered to be an era of communication. The way we convey our thoughts is of great importance in building relationships. In the workplace, there are employees of diverse cultural and educational backgrounds. This makes team work on a difficult task, but with a clear understanding of the task to be achieved, all members work towards the same goal. Misunderstandings, conflicts and differences in opinions are easily managed when there is a clear flow of communication between team members.
With proper communication, a close relationship and trust build among the employees, therefore promoting excellent working conditions. An atmosphere of support and cooperation is promoted by properly conveying expectations of the management team to the employees and vice versa (相反的情況). Therefore, developing oral communication skills is important to success in life ahead.
How to improve oral communication? In the business world, individuals are expected to be confident about their beliefs and ideas. Therefore, they must include words like “in my opinion”, “as far as I know”. While improving skills on oral communication, people in the workplace must learn the art of listening. In addition, one must also have a positive body language during conversations. A person with a smiling face and positive attitude can raise the spirits of everyone around him. When we're talking to someone, we must give the other person an opportunity to talk as it improves our listening ability.
Communication is an art and it can be improved by working on it constantly. Since it is not an overnight work, one needs to learn it by observing people who are good at it.

What are the children in post-90s era like?
By carefully studying and analyzing the interactive relations between the growth of youth and the change of social environment in China, Professor Yang Xiong, a research fellow from Institute of Children's Studies, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences summarized several similarities shared by the children in post 90s era.
I. They have an avant-garde(前衛(wèi)的) concept of consumption and strong desires and lay excessive(過度的) emphasis on the importance and the amount of money and the way how to get money. A survey on under-10 children in Shanghai and Paris over their ideal career in the future showed that children in France preferred the profession of sportsman, rock & roll singer and sailing boat athlete; whereas children in China wanted to be boss, entrepreneur and leader, and desired vehicle and villa. They have been influenced by their parents, schools and the society they lived in to some extent.
II. They are in great need of a sense of loyalty to teams. Some social phenomena have weakened their interests toward loyalty, and they advocate individualism. Actually, some parents would subconsciously encourage their children to do something selfish rather than contribute to the team.
III. They are closer to the new media than their parents are and they are prone to(易于) fall the victims during the process of globalization. They have broader visions and possess pluralistic(多元的) ways in accepting information. Meanwhile, they are better developed in terms of psychology and intelligence, with wide range of knowledge and a precocious(早熟的) inner world. But it seems that such qualities more likely to make them feel hollow.
IV. Some social realities have made them understand that they should pay more attention to concrete things rather than abstract philosophy. And some of them concern more about their comfortable lives and the way of making living.
Prof. Yang held that the weakness of the children in post 90s era required early attention. Adults, parents should set an example for the children and take the responsibility. Along with the social development, children of post 90s era will become a generation of all-round development.
