Busy as I am every day, I always open my computer and check my email. Most of the time I am simply doing finger exercises, another form of piano practice without beautiful tones. Sometimes, however, I receive a gift, reminding me of the gifts in my life. The following passage is one of those gifts.

Peter Jones is a 92-year-old, short, calm and proud man. Every morning he is fully dressed by eight o’clock, with his hair fashionably combed and face perfectly shaved even though hi is unable to see anything. He would move to a nursing home today. His wife of 70 years old has recently passed away, making the move necessary.

After hours of waiting patiently in the entrance hall of the nursing home, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready. As he moved his walking stick skillfully to the elevator, the nurse provided a visual description of his tiny room. “I love it,” he stated with enthusiasm. “Mr. Jones, you haven’t been the room,” said the nurse.

“That doesn’t have anything to do with it,” he replied. “Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn’t depend on how the furniture is arranged…it’s how I arrange my mind. I have already decided to love it. It’s a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice: I can spend the day in bed complaining of the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do.”

Each day is a gift, and as long as we are alive. We’ll focus on the new day and all the happy memories we’ve stored just as Mr. Jones does.

1.What do we know about Mr. Jones ?

A. He is a blind but very neat.

B. His wife died many years ago.

C. He likes playing the piano.

D. His room in the nursing home is big.

2.How did Mr. Jones feel about his room in the nursing home?

3.The underlined word “it” in paragraph 4 refers to ________.

4.What would be the best title for the text?

A. Each Day is a Gift B. Be Always Grateful

I do a lot of hiking. And I can step out of my house and within minutes reach a beautiful forest where I walk for exercise every day.I see many photography subjects such as parrots, snakes, hares, big trees and flowers. There are so many different flowers around my place that once I decided to see how many types I could count in a one?hour?long walkand I counted over 100.

Needless to say,as a keen amateur photographer,I always take a camera with me.I have three favorites: a Pentax Optio RZ10,a Sony Alpha 390 and a Panasonic Lumix FZ100.I mostly take the Pentax pocket camera with me.This Pentax pocket camera takes images as good as those from much more expensive Single Lens(鏡頭)Reflex cameras. It allows you to get to just 1 cm from the subject, and these images are of astonishing clarity(清楚)I can stick the camera right into a flower. And the photo shows fantastic details.

The Pentax is also good at taking landscapes. The color is natural and price again the details even of distant objects are great.Sometimeseven when I have one of my other cameras with me,I still just use the Pentax pocket camera.About half of all the images on my website were taken with the Pentax.

The Pentax takes quality images in poor light and the zoom works well. You have to work hard to get a blurry(模糊的)shot. This is an especially good feature at parties and gatherings. You get fantastic photos of people. You don't have to wait for them to keep still.

Keep this camera in your pocket or in the car.It takes up little roomit's light and you'll never regret it!

Where Are We Going, Dad? has become one of China's most popular television shows, since its debut (首次登場(chǎng)) in October, averaging more than 600 million viewers each week. Sponsorship rights (冠名權(quán)) for the show's second season were sold for 312 million yuan (about $ 50 million), more than ten times higher than the rights to the first season.

What accounts for its popularity? The show features a new generation of Chinese fathers, who, as part of the country’s new middle class, have faced more problems with modern child-raising techniques such as taking an active role with their children.

Part of the appeal of the show is the chance to throw a glance at the lives of Chinese celebrities (名流) and their children. Audiences are interested in watching the failed attempts of celebrity dads making dinner, doing hair, and disciplining (管教) children -- tasks often left to mothers in a society still influenced by the saying that “men rule outside and women are inside.” “In traditional Chinese culture, fathers are strict and mothers are kind. But on the show, we see fathers who are much gentler on their kids and more involved in their upbringing, ” said Li Minyi, an associate professor. “This show raises an important question for modern Chinese society -- what is the role of fathers in today’s China?”

After each episode () goes to air, the Chinese internet explodes with comments on each celebrity's parenting style.

Actor Guo Tao tries to communicate with his son, Shitou, but is seen as a more traditional Chinese father, and has been criticised online for being too harsh. Zhang Liang, a supermodel, is an audience favorite for treating his son, Tiantian, more like a friend. The show’s most famous celebrity, Lin Zhiying, a film star, was originally praised as patient with his son Kimi. But as the season progresses, fans begin to criticise him for raising a spoiled, undisciplined boy. Director Wang Yuelun is at a complete loss when it comes to care of his daughter’s hair.

Even the People's Daily is pleased with the success of the show.

A. 312 million yuan B. 50 million yuan

A. gives audiences the chance to raise the star's children themselves

B. invites some famous film stars to take part in it
