【題目】閱讀理解
Finding summer jobs for teenagers has not always been easy, but now you no longer have to worry about what your kids can do to earn their own money. Recently I found some different sites online that offer information about what kids can do. Below issome of that information, along with questions to think about to help you come upwith your own ideas.
Ideas for summer work:
●Parks and Recreation Programs.
●Babysitting (當(dāng)臨時(shí)保姆) during the day of school.
●Working part-time at a day care for the summer.
●Car washing.
●Working at local vegetable stands.
The easiest way for you to find ways for your child to make money is to think about others' inconveniences (不方便). Think of things you need done, or would like to have done, and what you would consider paying for these things to get done. Once you have some ideas, you can sit down with your children and talk to them aboutwhat they would be interested in doing. Then once you have an idea of what theywant to do you can help them come up with fair prices.
Preferably you would want to only have your child working with people you know and trust, or in the least bit you could have your child pick a partner. That way with each of them carrying cell phones, even those without service can call 911, they will be much safer.
You can find out more information and many more ideas for kids to use to make money during their summer holidays by visiting http://www.kidswantmoney.com.

It has been a long time since I did anything good for the environment. Feeling responsible to protect the environment, I decided to take the action again. I told my idea to my friends and we planned to plant tree on the hill in the countryside. We came to the foot of the hill and selected a place where looked suitably and settled down. We spend a few hours digging holes and placing the young seedlings. Then we wrote our wishes on cards one to one and buried it deep down the roots of the trees. We also took a lot of pictures. We were such busy that we didn't realize that it was time to go back. I felt really glad that we made difference to the environment.

【題目】根據(jù)短文理解,選擇正確答案。
For many people around the world, a subway journey means speeding from one dull station to the next, surrounded by too many uncomfortable, impatient people. But on the Moscow Metro, taking the subway is like walking through a national heritage site. Depending on where you get off, you'll receive a brief course in architectural movements and face colorful glass windows, marble(大理石) columns, gilded(鎏金的) mosaics and painted scenes from Russian history.
“These extraordinarily beautiful places are unlike any metro station I've ever seen, “says Vancouver-based photographer David Burdeny.
When Burdeny, who himself has a master's degree in architecture, first found out about Moscow's metro stations, he was struck by the work of art. In all, he has photographed 20 of the most beautiful stations.
Burdeny had originally planned to focus on Russian stations more generally, taking photos of examples in both St. Petersburg and Moscow.
“But when I saw the stations in Moscow, they just completely blew away the St. Petersburg ones,” he says.
Shooting in the subway sounds simple, but it is not without challenges. For one thing, Burdeny had to figure out a way to access them between 00:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., when the stations were closed.
In the end, he settled on Arbatskaya Metro Station, whose vaulted(拱狀的) arches he found the most beautiful. But it also represented a challenge he was not sure if he was able to overcome: conveying the hugeness of the spaces. The Arbatskaya platform, for example, stretches 820 feet.
“Some of the arches are quite long,” he says. “When you enter them, they're just so completely grand.”
(1)We can learn from the text that David Burdeny.
A.is a world-famous architect
B.took photos of Moscow subway stations
C.took the subway to and from work
D.is studying Russian history
(2)What Burdeny found challenging was .
A.when to take photos of Moscow subway stations
B.Whether to work in St. Petersburg or Moscow
C.where to get off to study the Moscow metro system
D.how to photograph the long arches at Arbatskaya Metro Station
(3)What does the underlined word “Shooting” mean in Paragraph 6?
A.Firing bullets from a gun
B.Making movies
C.Taking photographs
D.Throwing the ball at the basket.

【題目】It’s good to make mistakes, and here is why.

First of all, mistakes are a clear sign that we are trying new things. It’s always good to try new things because when we are trying new things,we are growing. If we never try anything new,how can we improve? The simple answer is,“We can’t”.

Another good thing about mistakes is that when we are making them,we are learning.Consider this—Edison failed 10,000 times before he perfected the light bulb. When asked how it felt to fail that many times,he said that he had learned 10,000 things that didn’t work.

When we make a mistake,we are much closer to success.Because every time we make a mistake,we eliminate one of the things that keeps us from success.

But all this doesn’t mean that we should go through life without considering the consequences of a mistake. Instead, when we try something new,we have to be willing to set some reasonable limits so that in the event that it doesn’t work out the way we want it to,we will be in a position to try again. We all have limited resources—in the form of time and money—so we shouldn’t blow them all on one approach to a problem. It’s best that we realize it probably won’t be perfect the first time and allocate these resources appropriately so we can learn, make corrections, and try again.Only by accepting and using our mistakes in this way can we make significant advances in our lives.

There is an old saying that goes,“If you’re not making mistakes, you’re not trying hard enough.”So go forth and make mistakes.

1Which can be used to replace the underlined word "eliminate" in Paragraph 4?

A. make up for B. get rid of

C. accept D. expect

2What do we know from the fifth paragraph?

A. We should ignore the possible consequences.

B. We should accept the outcome willingly.

C. We should make some limits for our next try.

D. We should avoid making the same mistakes.

3What is the text mainly about?

A. Dealing with mistakes. B. Making mistakes.

C. Making progress. D. Benefiting from mistakes.

4What may the writer suggest we say to ourselves when making a mistake?

A. Never mind,I tried my beat. B. Great!Now I have learned something.

C. This is a waste of time. D. Look at this mess.I should just give up.
