Finding summer jobs for teenagers has not always been easy, but now you no longer have to worry about what your kids can do to earn their own money. Recently I found some different sites online that offer information about what kids can do. Below issome of that information, along with questions to think about to help you come upwith your own ideas.
Ideas for summer work:
●Parks and Recreation Programs.
●Babysitting (當臨時保姆) during the day of school.
●Working part-time at a day care for the summer.
●Car washing.
●Working at local vegetable stands.
The easiest way for you to find ways for your child to make money is to think about others' inconveniences (不方便). Think of things you need done, or would like to have done, and what you would consider paying for these things to get done. Once you have some ideas, you can sit down with your children and talk to them aboutwhat they would be interested in doing. Then once you have an idea of what theywant to do you can help them come up with fair prices.
Preferably you would want to only have your child working with people you know and trust, or in the least bit you could have your child pick a partner. That way with each of them carrying cell phones, even those without service can call 911, they will be much safer.
You can find out more information and many more ideas for kids to use to make money during their summer holidays by visiting http://www.kidswantmoney.com.

Whether you're up for a Crocodile Dundee's adventure or you'd just like a taste of the Australian sun, the beaches in and around Sydney can offer you all that and more.
Sydney Beach
Sydney Beach is located at Sydney's northernmost tip on an extension(延伸) of land ending at Palm Beach. Before checking out the golden sand, take a quick tour of the houses of millionaires from the art and film industries.
Palm Beach
Only about an hour from downtown Sydney, Palm Beach offers a long stretch(延伸) of clean sand and water. With parking near the center of the beach, that leaves the rest of it as a peaceful location with a sparse population, from which you can go surfing but take care — without the huge crowds of other Sydney's beaches, Palm Beach doesn't afford quite the safety level to be found elsewhere. Volunteer lifesavers are on duty only on weekends and holidays.
Bondi Beach
For the famous beach, Bondi Beach has to be your choice. Parking is difficult to find even on slow days, so consider taking public transport to this world—known beach in the eastern Sydney suburbs. Easily reachable by taxi, bus, and rail, Bondi Beach offers sun bathing, swimming, snorkeling, and all sorts of water sports fun. If you're in the mood for a bit of exercise, two scenic coastal walks will afford you great views and sights along the shore. Take in views from Mackenzie's Point. It starts at Bondi and heads south to Bronte Beach. But don't try to swim in Mackenzie's Bay — it holds dangers such as hidden rocks.
Bronte Beach
Your second choice for a scenic coastal walk covers a few miles and takes you from Bronte Beach to Waverly Cemetery, where many famous Australians are buried, including the poet Henry Lawson.
(1)Which of the following shows the right order of the beaches lined from the south to the north?
A.Palm Beach—Sydney Beach—Bronte Beach—Bondi Beach
B.Bronte Beach—Bondi Beach—Palm Beach—Sydney Beach
C.Sydney Beach—Palm Beach—Bondi Beach—Bronte Beach
D.Bondi Beach—Bronte Beach—Palm Beach—Sydney Beach
(2)The underlined word "sparse" probably means ________.
A.large
B.thick
C.thin
D.crowded
(3)What can we learn from the passage?
A.If you want to enjoy a walk, you can choose Bondi Beach or Bronte Beach.
B.If you want to swim in Palm Beach, the safer time is on weekdays and holidays.
C.If you want to visit the famous people's tombs, you can choose Sydney Beach.
D.If you want to visit Palm Beach, the airplane is your best choice.
(4)What's the purpose of the text?
A.It aims to show the scenery of the beaches in and around Sydney.
B.It aims to introduce the culture and customs in and around Sydney.
C.It aims to show the activities on the beaches in and around Sydney.
D.It aims to attract the visitors to the beaches in and around Sydney.

【題目】A girl became a volunteer in the activities of Deathbed Care, which meant visiting and taking care of a patient suffering from an incurable disease with days numbered.

The girl was assigned to look after an old man suffering from cancer whose children lived abroad. Their living conditions were not satisfactory while the old man had a lot of savings. She was expected to comfort him and keep up his spirits. Every Saturday the girl came on time to keep his company, telling him stories. When he was having an intravenous drip (靜脈滴注), she would help massage his arms. The doctor found the patient much improved mentally. The old man began to involve himself actively in the medical treatment and he seldom shouted at others.

But something that happened made the doctor uneasy and puzzled. Each time the girl left, the old man would give her some money. The doctor did nothing to interfere (干涉), unwilling to offend the old man. A month later the old man showed evident signs of decline after suffering coma (昏迷) a few times. When rescued from the latest coma, the old man told the doctor his last wish, “ I have deep sympathy for the girl. Will you be kind enough to help her finish her studies?” But the doctor knew that her family was well-off and she had no difficulty pursuing her studies. Sometimes she even came to the hospital in her father’s car.

When the girl came at the weekend after the death of the old man, the doctor told her the bad news. She was very sad and burst into tears. 【題目】根據短文理解,選擇正確答案。
Today is National Bike-to-Work Day. And on New York City's jammed streets, people are cycling on hundreds of miles of new bike lanes. But New York's widespread efforts to make streets safer for bikes have also left some locals complaining about the loss of parking spots and lanes for cars.
When the weather is good, Aaron Naparstek likes to pedal(用踏板踩) his two young kids to school on a special Dutch-made bicycle. Naparstek supports the new lane.
Aaron: The bike lane on Prospect Park West is really introducing a lot of new people to the idea that it's possible to use a bike in New York City for transportation or to travel around. This is what 21st century New York City looks like.
Prospect Park West is still a one-way road, but where it used to have three lanes of car traffic, now it has two, plus a protected bike lane. Supporters say that makes the road safer for everyone, including pedestrians, by slowing down cars and taking bikes off the sidewalk. But some longtime residents disagree. Lois Carswell is president of a group called Seniors for Safety. She says the two-way bike lane is dangerous to older residents who are used to one-way traffic.
Lois: We wanted a lane — the right kind of lane that would keep everybody safe, that would keep the bikers safe. But we want it to be done the right way. And it has not been done the right way.
Craig Palmer builds bars and restaurants in Manhattan. I was interviewing him for a different story when he brought up the bike lanes all on his own.
Craig: I think the biggest problem is that Bloomberg put all these bike lanes in. You took what used to be a full street and you're shrinking it.
Then there are the Hasidic Jews in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, who forced the city to remove a bike lane through their neighborhood. But polls show that the majority of New Yorkers support bike lanes by a margin of 56% to 39%. Bicycle advocate Caroline Samponaro of Transportation Alternatives calls that a mandate.
Caroline: If this was an election, we would have already had our victory. The public has spoken and they keep speaking. And I think, more importantly, the public is starting to vote with their pedals.
(1)What does Aaron mean by saying “This is what 21st century New York City looks like.”?
A.There are hundreds of miles of new bike lanes in 21 st century New York City.
B.Drivers slow down their cars and bikes are taken off the sidewalk in New York.
C.It's possible to make the streets safe for pedestrians in New York.
D.Bikes are used as a means of transport in 21 st century New York City.
(2)According to the passage, which of the following CANNOT support the opponents of these new bike lanes?
A.Drivers lose parking spots and lanes for cars.
B.We took what used to be a full street so the road is broader than before.
C.The two-way bike lane is dangerous to older residents.
D.The removal of one bike lane through a neighbourhood in Brooklyn was not supported by the majority of New Yorkers.
(3)“A mandate” in Paragraph 8 was referred to a demand or command from ________.
A.the authority
B.the government
C.the supporters
D.the public
(4)Which of the following might be the best title of the passage?
A.Ride on National Bike-to-Work Day
B.A Bike Lane Divides New Yorkers
C.A New Bike Lane Appears in New York
D.Who Wins an Election
