As this is International Year of the Family, you have the chance to win a wonderful family holiday in Jamaica. All you have to do is take a photograph which shows family life. It could be the children with their parents or their grandparents or whatever you wish. You don’t have to have taken it on holiday of course. Now, the lucky winner has the chance to spend two weeks at Silver Sands Bay in Jamaica. Two weeks of beautiful beaches, sunshine, plenty for everyone to do. There are water sports and children’s entertainment, and everything is included. That’s everything — food as well. Now, the second prize is a camera worth ￡500, and that’s certainly worth having for any holidays coming up. So send us your photograph — in color or black and white — by 31 August — that’s the closing date for entries ... and listen to this program to hear if you’ve won or not. We will be announcing the winners on 15 September. Now, you must be over 18 years of age. I’m sorry kids, but you’ll have a chance next month in your super sports competition! Send your lucky photograph to us at DCM Radio, 25 East Hill, Brighton, Sussex. And don’t forget to write your name and address on the back of the photo. The other day I happen to read an eighty-word passage about details. I found it prettily good.

One who wants to achieve great success should pay attentions to details. Sometimes it is the details in that determine our success, for it has a great impact on what we’re doing. We should form the habit of being careful, so a careful person rarely overlooks details. What’s more, we should learn to keep balance of quantity and quality. When facing with lots of work, the faster we do them, the more mistakes we usually make. In that case we are possible to neglect the details. Nowadays, stand-up comedy is popular all over the world. Doctors have been researched what effect stand-up and other forms of comedy have to us. They have discovered people laugh a lot live longer. They say this is because when you laugh, your brain sends chemical around your body that are good for you. Laughing helps your body stay health and can even helped you fight pain. Maybe this explains the long lives of men like Bob Hope or George Burns. Whichever the reason is, research shows in the end, the English saying, ‘Laughter is the best medicine’, may be true after all. So, go and make someone to laugh—it just might help you live much longest.
