Growing up, I didn’t have much ambition and I was wasted a lot of time on video games. One day, with no reason I picked up a book, that was about seven habits of highly successful teenagers. We don’t remember much about the story, but one key concept that true impressed me was the idea of time. The book stressed the importance of use our time wisely. I know it sounds crazily, but during that time I was aimless person. However, after I read that book, I made a decision to spend as many time as possible just reading. Believe it or not, I’ve made great progresses since then.

My neighbour Li Hai is going to graduate college soon and he hasn’t found the job yet. He was once advising to learn computer skills, so he thought it was difficult. When he saw others learning English, he shook his head, said it was too hard to remember new words. He enjoyed watching TV, playing cards, smoking and so on. He felt it was hard for him to give up all these habit. Not long ago, he went to look for a job. When he knew talents were great needed, he sighed and regretted the time when that he had wasted. He told me how he wished he has worked hard in college and asked me not to copy her example.

The space mission to Tempel 1 cost $335 million and was called Deep Impact. The spacecraft was traveling at 37,000 kilometers per hour when it hit the comet and the crash completely destroyed the spacecraft. But before it hit the comet, the spacecraft took some amazing photographs. The last one was a closeup picture which the spacecraft took just 3 seconds before it crashed into the comet.

“Right now we have lost one spacecraft，” said a delighted NASA engineer. Deep Impact was like an American Independence Day fireworks display. It took many years to plan and ended in an enormous explosion.

The spacecraft which crashed into the comet was made of copper and was the size of a washing machine. It was dropped from a mothership into the path of the comet and the mothership then photographed the cloud of ice, dust and organic chemicals that rose from the surface of the comet after the crash.

The crash completely destroyed the spacecraft but nothing really happened to the comet: experts believe that the crash slowed the comet down by no more than 1/10,000 of a millimeter a second. The aim of the mission was to study for the first time the interior of a comet.

The mothership was 480 km from the explosion and observed the crash and the explosion with instruments for 800 seconds. Seven satellites, including the Hubble space telescope, watched the moment of drama, and over the next day and night about 50 telescopes on Earth were watching the distant comet.

Today my father and I drove to visit Li Wei, whom we have been supporting for two year.

We set off early in the morning, and after a two-hour drive, we got in his home. At that moment, he was working in the garden when his grandpa was sitting in the sun. They were excited to see us and gave us warm welcome. We gave Li Wei a schoolbag and some books as well. Grateful and being moved, he showed us his excellent schoolwork, which impress us greatly. The Torre Velasca

The Tone Velasca in Milan is in the centre of Milan (Italy). The tower, which went up in the 1950s, is about 100 metres tall. Its design is actually a modern representation of a traditional Lombard castle, where the lower parts were narrower(狹窄的) than the upper parts.

The Mirador Building

The Mirador Building in Madrid (Spain) was created by Dutch studio MVRDV and the Spanish architect Blanca Lleo. The building, which is a block of flats, opened in 2005. The Prague TV Tower

The Prague TV Tower is in Prague (the capital of the Czech Republic). It stands 216 metres high and looks a bit like a tall, thin space ship. Prague is famous for its architectural beauty, so when the tower was put up in 1985 by architect Vaclav Aulicky and engineer Jiri Kozak, many felt it didn’t fit in.

The Longaberger Basket Company

The Longaberger Basket Company building is in Newark, Ohio (USA). The office block was opened in 1997 and looks like a very large basket. It’s got seven floors and two handles at the top. The handles weigh about 150 tons. It may not be the ugliest building in the world but it’s certainly one of the most unusual.

Recently I have taken quite a interest in cooking. I suggest that the school organizes a cooking-learning activity to teach students to prepare any delicious food. Last week I went to visit to my former neighbor, Mr. Yang. He and I used to living next to each other for many years. About half a year ago, an order came which the old building, along with many other similar ones, were going to be pulled down to make room for a main street.
