Recently, some college students are busy finding variety of methods to make money during their free time. Some people believed that it is great. In such a competitive society, experience is becoming very more and more important. Doing part-time jobs are a good way to get experience. And it also helps to reducing parents’ financial stress. Others, therefore, argue that students’ duty is nothing but study. On the one hand, part-time jobs may have a negative effect in their studies. Last Sunday I am about to leave the Green Lake Park when I met a foreign visitor whose seemed to be lost. I tried to help him but I found we had difficulty in understand each other because of my poor English. Just at that moment, tall young lady came to our help. He spoke very good English. With her help, the foreign visitor finally found the way but I learned some English as well. Before he left, the foreigner thanked to us for our kindness. I was very exciting that day. Last year I spent my the first Thanksgiving Day in my own house. I have never cooked Thanksgiving dinner before, so I wanted to be special. Sometimes in February, my teacher told us about the city speech contest, its topic was “People who have overcome difficulties in their lives”. I thought of my grandma would be my perfect topic. Then I carefully prepared for contest. A couple of weeks later, after the first round I was choosing to be one of the seven finalists! The final was held soon. I was the sixth to present the speech. How a relief when I finished it ! After the last person finished, the judge made their final decisions and announced that I have won first prize. One day in the restaurant where I worked, I am serving a table of four and each person had ordered the different kind of fish. Three plate were already on the table when the man closest to me pointing to one plate and asked me the name of the fish on it. Before I could answer him, he continued ask me the name of the fish on another one plate. I was about to answer him while I noticed that the last plate on my tray (托盤) began to fall.
