Hearing the front door open, I ran down to the kitchen and waited. I saw may dad come in, with the white envelope in his hand. Wang Ling, a middle school girl, felt angry with her parents after getting a boy’s phone call. “A classmate called me to discuss homework. When I was small, my mum used to give the family something special for meals —she would make breakfast food for dinner.
