【答案】The pie charts present the changes of the percentages of the energy produced from various sources in our country from 2007 to 2017.
Apparently, oil was the most dominant source from which the energy was produced, although its percentage dropped from 52% to 39%. Likewise, nuclear also declined, becoming the third primary source of energy. The percentage of natural gas, on the other hand, witnessed the most noticeable increase during the period, rising from 13% to 23%.
Coal and other renewable resources saw the rise of 5% and 3% respectively. Interestingly, the proportion of the energy produced from the hydrogen, though not widely used, remained stable. Overall, this trend helps guarantee sustainable economic growth, improve the environment and reduce the cost of living.
To my mind, we should enforce the use of other renewable resources such as solar energy, wind energy and water energy to protect our limited resources.

As the November cold begins to take control
in the UK, Bonfire Night (or Guy Fawkes Night) is a chance to wrap up in winter clothes and warm up by the fire.
Celebrated on November 5, Guy Fawkes Night has been part of British history since 1605, when Fawkes was found trying to blow up parliament (議會) with barrels of gunpowder. Now, it is traditional for Britons to make a fake (假的) “Guy” every year from old clothes and burn it on the fire.
If you visit a small town in the southwest of the country, you might see men from the village run through the crowded streets with huge wooden barrels on their backs, then fill them with tar (焦油) and set them on fire. And in Lewes, a town in the southern English county of Sussex, different groups of bonfire societies parade (游行) the streets, each wearing their own unique outfits and carrying a giant mascot (吉祥物), which they burn at their own bonfire party at the end of the evening.
Bonfire Night is also a time for “chili con carne”, a dish made from slowcooked beef mince, tomatoes, kidney beans, onions, and spices. It is often served on top of a hot jacket potato with butter and cheese. It's not the most elegant dish in the world but it's sure to warm people up while they brave the cold for the festivities.
But for many Britons, the night is not complete without “bonfire treacle toffee (太妃糖)”, which

If you think that running marathons will help you live a long and healthy life, new research may come as a shock. According to a recent scientific study, people who do a very strenuous workout are as likely to die as people who do no exercise at all.
Scientists in Denmark have been studying over 1,000 joggers and nonjoggers for 12 years. The death rates from the sample group indicate that people who jog at a moderate pace two or three times a week for less than two and a half hours in total are least likely to die. The best speed to jog at was found to be about 5 miles per hour. The research suggests that people who jog more than three times a week or at higher speeds of over 7 mph die at the same rate as nonjoggers. The scientists think that this is because strenuous exercise causes structural changes to the heart and arteries (動脈). Over time, this can cause serious injuries.
Peter Schnohr, a researcher in Copenhagen, said, “If your goal is to decrease risk of death and improve life expectancy, jogging a few times a week at a moderate pace is a good strategy. Anything more is just unnecessary, and it may be harmful.”
The implications of this are that moderate forms of exercise such as tai chi, yoga and brisk walking may be better for us than “iron man” events, triathlons and longdistance running and cycling. According to Jacob Louis Marott,

C.It will bring much pressure.
D.It consumes too much energy.
【4】What can be inferred from the text?
A.Jogging is the best exercise.
