Recently, an issue has come into public attention. As is reported in the newspaper, many volunteers rushed into nursing homes to help the elderly, which turned out to be more of a burden. Some senior citizens complained that they were badly exhausted by excessive voluntary service on such a single day.
From my point of view, there must be two reasons contributing to this phenomenon. In the first place, many volunteers flooded into nursing homes either in the true charitable spirit, i.e, Lei Feng spirit or at the request of their boss. Secondly, they must have gone for the nursing homes in the city-centre within easy reach.
The above embarrassing happening conveys to us that Lei Feng spirit is nothing but a routine way of action and calls for us to do a favor for the needy around us in a practical way.
